Microsoft reported today that Windows Media Player would no longer be free, and that they would begin rolling the cost of WMP into future versions of Windows. The expected additional cost of Windows would now be approximately $75 more.
at least to the NSA... they knew about this 4 weeks before it happened.
new for us tho.
i wonder if they're still after will smith... i know the movie is over, but his acting was dreadful. please nsa spooks, find him and do something with him.
maybe this is the article the community needs to prove to ESR and RMS that their fanaticism is getting the community nowhere.
o'reilly is a smart man. i couldn't believe one of the gnu hippies actually tried to claim the gpl was more free than the bsd/x11/mit license that tim advocated (article a few months ago).

i guess nasa was wrong about that asteroid missing us... i bet that son of a bitch is gonna hit earth smack dab in the middle of the usa. something has to explain these symptoms/precursors of the world coming to an end.
Arizona tried something like this, but they started with regular vehicles and then gave tax credits to people who converted their vehicles to be hybrid gasoline and natural gas.
If your state tries to do something like this, run for the hills. Arizona is at least $1US billion in the red because to these tax credits. They are trying to work the numbers to make it $1 billion.
To sum it up, don't let your local gov't give tax credits for AFVs... it'll end up costing more.
i have a customer hell bent on moving to windows/office xp so he can use the 'new, must have' features they offer... for example, being able to do speech-to-powerpoint stuff.
i could blame it on ms, or the 4000 ms-centric mags out there hyping it, not sure. i've tried to tell him the setup he has now works perfectly fine, but, he wants to switch. after all he *needs* this extra fluff.
at least he knows i charge extra for supporting xp.

you could
go outside
take a shower
switch to diet coke
get the artifical cheese dust out of your facial hair
get a real, living girlfriend. japanese anime (although cool) doesn't count
the problem with the original 117 was that it's tail was too small. they added about a square foot to each tail and it was golden. one of the very few physical modifications that had to be done to the bird because of all the computer modeling that was used.
i'd say cost of the hardware
for the cost of a mid-range xserver (1G/120G/SMP), I could get 3, maybe 4, pcs. together, they could be more effective than the 1 mac

verisign fucked up by not verifying the letter
how about i forge a letter to your bank saying to transfer all your money to me, and, without verifying it with you, they go and do that?
