    why applications require that you restart

    Usually it's for silly reasons, like adding the application to your PATH. It's totally unnecessary but people are so used to it programmers don't think twice about forcing a reboot after installation.

    Most copy shops (Kinko's comes to mind) will refuse to copy any copyrighted material, and that includes any book.

    PHP is insecure and broken

    What does this have to do with PHP being insecure and broken??? The fact that they can't handle the traffic has nothing to do with their choice of software. It'd be like saying that "AMD processors are insecure and broken" because these guys can't handle the traffic. You've never seen a Slashdotting before??

    My Honda Civic was made in Ohio. Frankly, there's no guarantee that "American" cars are made in America - most auto makers are shifting production to Mexico (for example, every PT Cruiser, Avalanche, Escort, and Aztek was made in Mexico - and there are many more examples).

    Tor appears to have a BSD-style license:

    Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without modification, are permitted

    Some people say that the GPL isn't really "free", those people usually argue that the BSD license is. I don't agree with them, but you hear this from many BSD developers.

    Mod up parent. He's right, no one is planning to use R/W tags. You'd have to physically switch the RFID tag with one from an item with a lower price - same as barcodes.
