There are no good schools, only good proffesors. Your Dad is wrong. He's just playing into the hands of those who would like you all to think that expensive schools are better because they are expensive.
why? because the ported BSD to the PowerPC architecture and built a USABLE GUI for it? i'm afraid it's basically the same thing, buddy. as close as fedora or redhat or any other distro....:)
I know! It's torture here in Ottawa Too! Why Cumberland as the test site? I'm only a few KM away, but I can't get access to that system.... If you ran it on batteries, you could have 2.2Mb all the way downtown... Not that the 3.3Mb service we get with ADSL is anything to snub your nose at, but you are tethered to a landline...

Obviously they learned how to from the US Political system. If you can sue your way into Leadership, obviously the US "democracy" is a facade for dictatorship, and then you can sue your way into anything. Wanna rule a country? SUE! Want to own all of the software on the planet? SUE!
SEATTLE - Microsoft said late Thursday parts of the source code for its Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 operating systems have been illegally leaked over the internet.
The source code leak could allow hackers to attack machines running some versions of Windows.
A spokesperson for Microsoft told The Associated Press that the company had just learned about the leak and is investigating.
Microsoft spokesperson Tom Pilla says it doesn't appear the company's corporate network has been breached.
While the company has provided parts of its source code to U.S. government agencies, foreign governments and universities, it does argue its code is proprietary and is not public.
I want to set up a free wireless network in my neighbourhood. I'm glad others are taking the same initiative. To save money, you may want to run a devilinux router to web cache with squid, and prevent users from doing illegal stuff.
I agree. You could control access then. With a well designed antenna. You will probably not have to go through the elevator shaft. Unless there is a lot of rebar in the building.... The only problem might be managing client access when they don't contribute to the monthly internet bill.
another opinion....

I probably got the quote wrong, but whatever. They're always telling us we'll never need more than whatever is the status quo. Ha! My net could always be faster, my computer could always be faster, my screen could always be bigger! I applaud Utah for trying to bring high speed to the masses. It takes guts. Plus, the Internet should be for the people, not for the mega-conglomerates to make money! It's as important as electricity, libraries, and schools now.
If you can get on the extended tour. They'll show you even more crazy cold war stuff. Way cool. Four storey building buried under ground, atomic bomb proof. Like nothing you have ever seen before. I highly recommend it!
ottawa is the geekiest town in canada.... "silicon vally north" they say... you have to come here! we have the diefenbunker, more IT than you can shake a stick at
There should be a shift in the music industry. We should drive the record labels out of business by paying the musicians directly. I would rather give $15 directly to the artist, instead of $0.01 for the CD, $8.00 for the label, $6.95 for the record store, and $0.04 for the musician. They should be compensated directly for their work. I think, if you rip a musician's CD, you should send them $10 to pay for their work, and go around the record companies. The record companies don't deserve a penny, they've been stealing from all of us for too long. So, to answer your question. I would definately buy your album online. As long as it is encoded at at least 320kbs VBR, I'm happy.
They can't call it Longwait anymore because they've ripped out all of the cool stuff... 3D desktop? only on a mac.... still
