Just a quick question.. If I want to buy a CD in the Netherlands, I can listen to it so I can decide if I like it. Is this different in other countries? I don't know of any recordstore where you can't listen to CDs..
You're walking through town, windowshopping. You stop at a shoe-store. Suddenly a midget appears and shoves a large sign in my face with an ad for shoes. I think a large number of people would at this point decide to buy combat boots and use'em for combat. Poor midget.
nobody ofcourse would consider that. but this is not about shoplifting. What the RIAA is trying to do is outlaw shopping bags, cos research shows that a large number of shoplifters use shopping bags for their 'shopping'
>Sorry if that offends leftists, but profit is why we are where we are today.
A corporate-run police state..
I guess what disturbs me is that someone actually moderated this up. Go to austria and join Haider or something.. please.. sorry, I just can't stand right-wing extremists.
heard of this too.. apparently the Waterbird (I don't remember the name, so I'll assume the previous poster was correct) relied heavily on the wing-in-ground effect. The principle is that a wing with a large surface-are created an aircushion below the plane to provide the lift, which turns out to be quite efficient, more efficient than 'pure' flight, leaving more power for propulsion. The russian craft was used for cargo. Other 'planes' that use this are a.o. the Flarecraft. I think the flarecraft doesn't even count as an aeroplane, but as a ship because it can't get much higher than 10m from the surface (usually water, but like a hovercraft this isn't necessary)
>One more thing: why do I have to pay the copyright for the DVD when I paid it when I bought the same movie on tape?
Not that I agree with it, but it's at least defendable that the DVD contains more material than the same movie on tape. Now the other way round would be harder.. a tape contains only part of what's on a DVD..
companies have no personality to be violated, and indeed privacy laws should apply equally to everybody. everybody includes all persons. not cars, bicycles, corporations or other artificial entities.
if there would be any clause about a change in price for PH when the rocket exploded, it would be that in case of an explosion PH would have to pay extra. an exploding rocket will generate more viewers, will appear on more news shows, and will be shown several dates, while the inquiry on why the thing exploded runs.
cos rude word filters don't work. Need some ASSistance? or am I harASSing you? And you can really insult someone using perfectly innocent words, or use rude words in a non-insulting manner. Not to mention slang words with several meanings. like in dutch 'binnenvaartschipper' which is usually a riverboatcaptain, but can also mean a male homophile person in a certain context.
Yes, a great precedent.. WE definitely need a lot more laws restricting companies. I know I do. Spam should be opt-in only. phone solicting: also opt-in only. and make it mandatory to reveal the phone-number used. rights are for people, not artificial entities.
OOG no be hitting cavehos if oog high as a flemish parrot. OOG be happily having the munchies, and OOG roll new joint. OOG act like english hooligan in amsterdam, to stoned to do any real damage. OOG welcome to come and visit. As for Radja.. he'll be stoned again once he gets off work in a few hours.
What if instructions for growing hemp for pot, instructions to turn it into pot, and getting the best crop are in MP3 format? Could it be used against Napster and the likes? I know there is at least one such song, although it's in dutch (surprise..;). search for "Nederwiet" by "Doe Maar".
Not only that, it could also violate european privacy laws. And companies can't just fire anyone just cos they do not agree with their opinion. At least in the Netherlands...
>Why can't Rob let us vote on the story submissions?
It's even better than voting. we submit them in the first place.

wouldn't that be illegal to use in the UK, rather than illegal to use by a UK person? if so, then an overseas account will do for ppl in the UK..
//rdj

//rdj
P.S. this is a UK thing, not a european thing.

Check
>politicians & tele-evangelists in charge of moral standards and public deciency
Check
>Dracula in charge of the Red Cross Blood bank
Only reason this hasn't happened yet is cos bram stoker didn't know about bloodbanks yet
Truth really is stranger than fiction sometimes...

Not only does this affect Sting, it also affects julia roberts. I can't put up an julia roberts anti-fan site on mouthofsauron.com
Microsof in itself isn't just a typo, in dutch a 'sof' means a 'failure', making Microsof not only a typo, but a parody in itself.

>To expect others to bend to your will just because you decree it , is well..typically french .
typically american more like. Hormone beef, gentech soya, IP.. I think you'll find the american government has a much worse track-record.

Or even worse.. imagine a web-ad:
Look at the picture, and there you are..
I SWEAR I wasn't looking at that nude banner!!
Ugh.. my eyelids are tired already.. And I really don't feel like explaining to coworkers that I do NOT fancy them...

no, it's what I have come to expect from companies. That way they'll get more customers whose data they can sell.
