      It's about time they competed on a level playing field.
    Solar and wind (without subsidies) are cheaper than coal and natural gas.

  2. The plea bargain is usually used to avoid the cost of a trial. The DA charges the suspect with the maximum severity and type of infractions. The suspect (who may be innocent), pleads to a lesser charge to avoid the cost of a trial. (And most suspects don't have tens of thousands of dollars for a good lawyer)
    Win-win (except if you are innocent).

    People are being fired for performance reasons. These are not layoffs.
    Tesla loses money every year and people with no business training think think this means they can't make a profit.
    Tesla makes a profit of about 25% on each car they make (and they sell every car they make even with production increasing).
    Business 101: What is the difference between business investment and production costs?

    Los Angeles used to be like this... then we had the Clean Air Act and cleaned it up. (Of course, now Trump is dismantling the Clean Air Act so we'll be like China soon).

    Not true. The only time you can be denied unemployment is if you were fired for misconduct ( stealing, lying, failing a drug or alcohol test, falsifying records,etc.). Poor performance is not misconduct.

    The stated reason for the acquisition was "synergy" of sales, Powerwalls, solar panels and electric cars.
    For instance, the "fake solar tiles" are actually in production and being installed on houses for customers with electric cars and Powerwall batteries.

    Best to just fire them and "thank you for your service".

    In the US, they are using Liberty Mutual for "Insure my Tesla".
    Out of curiosity, I entered my information and received an insurance quote for my Tesla which is 4 times what I am currently paying.
    So... not a good deal... at all.

    If you RTFA (hard, I know) you will see that Google and Amazon are buying new renewable power from developers who are building for them so it doesn't displace other users of power.

    Please don't read or comment on new battery posts if you don't like them.
    This is a "news for nerds" site.
    There is a lot of research going on with new batteries. Some of it may pan out. A better battery will help with better EVs and with power storage.
    (Seems a lot more relevant that Google's "outrageous $20 price" for a USB adapter.)

    I don't run any anti-virus software on Linux. I trust the user community to discover and patch any problems much more than I trust any anti-virus vendor. So far, no problems.
