Dickhead, this article is less than 2 weeks old, heck it might even be a week. Some kind of coffee shop.

They weren't in the fucking habit of letting people in after closing time, they were in the habit of serving customers, busily and no one had time to walk to the door and flip the "closed, fuck off" sign - once they attempted to instigate said "closed, fuck off" rule a black woman got uppity about it and all hell ensued on social media.

The apparent expectations of system administrators, general support people appears to be going along the path of "if you don't know some kind of scripting, you're worthless". I continue to see things which seem to imply I need to be a goddamn programmer in order to get a job.

I envy programmers, they're clever people, it takes a hell of a lot of work. I've been in this industry for a heck of a long time and managed to get a reasonable way, without ever needing to really code. Maybe an advanced batch file here and there.

The industry seems to be changing. I don't know if it's for the best or not but it seems to me a whole heck of a lot more mid tier IT people are about to become either unemployed or bottom level chumps.

Look at the business which recently had people coming through the door late in the evening, AFTER closing time, they let people through but eventually had to cut new customers off at a certain point in time.

Unfortunately, the next customer to try was a black woman,....

Do I need to explain the rest? Suffice to say, total social media mess, people fired, was any of this deliberate? Who knows? Based on the original posted story, Occam's razor says no.

Regardless. Customers can be idiots and cause unwarranted complaints and rating bombing to occur.

It's a real mess and I think it needs re-branding or forced colour designations or something.

Ok so you know it doesn't quite do it, what happens if you then plug ANOTHER charger into your other USB-C port?
Although some might say "hey that's a stupid idea" and in some ways, I'd agree, it does actually kinda make some sense.
Would it work? Could things break or burn?

Nerds have had to look for "Bensen Approved" cables on Amazon, thanks to his efforts reviewing cables. But he can't review every product on earth.

The complexities of USB-C is awful, terrible. The potential to fry devices, the potential to buy cables which don't run at the right speed, the potential to buy cables which don't transmit video or something you're after.

Total and utter mess, truly is.

You can no longer visit a pals office or home and just borrow a cable and plug your device in. It might charge terribly or blow up.

I do not know what is going to be done to fix this but as it stands, adoption seems atrociously slow. I personally own 0 devices and have no intention of picking any up, any time soon.

On top of this, the world is straight the fuck up, dying. We're not working towards protecting it very well, we're not working towards replacing it (finding a new one elsewhere)

Then we have the internet, it's giving the poor access to see what's going on in the world better, they can see just how rich the rich are becoming, they can see the death of the world better than ever before, they can communicate with each other (as I am right now) elaborating on why there's little hope.
