Having freedom doesn't give you the right to be an asshat (on a legal level that is).
There are a ton of solutions to our prison systems but most of them have to do with massive overhauls that we're simply not going to see. These changes must be gradual simply for the sake of culture shock. It's unfortunate that we often get carried away with fighting an entire system instead of working to improve our backyard.
The solutions to so many problems start on the local level. People not only have more say but should have more interest in who gets elected to their local and state governments over the federal simply for the fact that it's more likely to cause the most effects on one's life.
Actually, it's your scenario that is illogical there, Spock.
By saying that the Nintendo market is largest based on per capita sales would be much more like saying "1 in 50 households in the US owns a Wii compared to 1 in 120 in the EU". Now, these numbers can have a few interpretations:
A. The US is hungry for the Wii and it's assorted goodies. B. The EU is less interested in the Wii. C. Either market may have a supply problem. D. The decline in American dollar is creating less sales even though the US is the number one consumer of Wiis.
ect ect...
None of which would make it easy to assume that the best potential for Nintendo's products is in either market. You're making a really really bad mistake of assuming that the problem that Nintendo is trying to avoid is over saturation of a market. Hell, to be honest you didn't really make that point either. Oh well...
I bet you're mostly angry because you have nostalgia for the particular set of problems you enjoyed when you first played some previous edition.
Uh, thanks for telling me what I think but you're wrong.
I have a problem with WotC business model and what it's done to DnD. If you don't see it you must be blind because I found tons of others who've seen it and openly posted about it on this very article. Did you go around telling them what they think too?
Aside from the ability to change up any spell slot to a healing spell name me one thing that got twinked about a cleric that existed in an earlier edition.
While I agree the vast majority of people are unaligned I would look at it more as a true neutral concept. True neutral shouldn't be as it was presented in AD&D V1 (you take the middle road all the time, no matter how ridiculous it is) but rather people who don't go to extremes. Does that mean that if a TN aligned PC goes out of his way to save his pals that he's suddenly good or evil depending on the alignment of those he's saving? Not at all. It's a rare occurrence.
Granted, it is a botched system compared to the 3.x versions but WotC managed to eek out a little bit of respectability from me by not presenting it as if:
Good: Even Mother Theresa would think you're a prude.
True Neutral: You're a farking schizo.
Evil: Hitler feels his place in history is threatened.
It's probably one of the few things that I though were completely out of line about AD&D under TSR. But then again, I hate players who put too much value in their alignment. Unless you're a cleric or a pali normally you're not going to go to one extreme or another.
The Cleric is no longer a required party member, as everyone can self heal.
If you looked for a cleric only because he can heal it's no wonder you've seen the those that play the class as a burden instead of a party member. You're treating clerics like most corporations treat their IT departments and you know how most IT employees feel about their companies...
Oh well, just another reason for me to dismiss WotC as the destroyers of D&D.
WotC fumbled the ball with software AGAIN? Who woulda thunk it? After their very sophomoric attempt at software with the 3.0 PHG and that shame for sale that they passed off as DM Tools I can only wait to (not) sink my teeth into their next software offering.
I've personally written better software for the game on a TRS-80.
It sucks worse that the citizens we've got aren't as concerned with the government as they should be.
Seriously, if things are to turn around it's going to take time and it's going to take a sacrifice on the part of a whole mess of people who think that not voting for the winning (ie. most popular) candidate is "throwing your vote away" regardless of their ideology.
Many people out there don't even know candidates like Paul exist because the media blackballs them. Let the playing field be even instead of dictating what the masses should know! What a big media shill.
Yes, and it's a sick and pathetic sham. I'm failing to see your point unless by accepting the status quo you think that somehow makes you right. If that's the way you see things why don't you just stop acting like there are other forces at work and admit to being a lemming.
They weren't marginal figures BECAUSE of media coverage, not in spite of it. Hell, Thompson was given more media attention when he was considering running than Paul has gotten his entire run. Ron Paul went through the same motions as both of them to become a candidate and he should have been given the same coverage because of it. If you really think that this is some kind of half assed popularity contest and that people who aren't as wealthy/popular/mainstream than the next guy should be ignored we can pretty much end the process as we know it today.
I wonder how many people Dell has employed just to post comments in their favor when they get bad press.:)
I wonder how many people post comments just like these when they don't have the same experience.
Seriously, just because you have a bad experience with a service or product doesn't mean that everyone does. Why is it that when someone says they got what they paid for someone else here screams "Shill!"?
My worry is with having to buy an expensive new monitor to use it.
How would that separate it from any other technology?
In all seriousness, I see it as MicroSoft grabbing at what it feels will be a useful interface for the future. People pissed themselves over iPhone and the iPod Touch, why not scale that up to the laptop and desktop? It would also allow devices to break away from the keyboard-mouse-monitor mold. Not that we don't see some of this in kiosks already but there could be some real killer devices behind this.
Someone else already brought up the idea of a mixing board that would use this in a fantastic way. And why not? It might not be a big market application but I can tell you right now that the virtual rack that I use with my Korg padKontrol is a major pain to work with mouse.
But you're failing to point out that at the time Kittinger did the jumps that it was really a frontier territory. So this is higher? So what? We've been higher at this point. Maybe not jumping but what's the real big deal here? Once you get beyond the science of the Manhigh jumps and into the world of 2008 where we've crossed these altitudes thousands of times both manned and unmanned (yes, we have been back even if it wasn't with a parachute) the rest becomes a dick wagging competition.
And not to dick on your post but RTFA had nothing to do with it. It's a question of the science value of this. We've seen parachutes higher than this but not with the same payload. This is no longer a frontier. 25% higher? Come back and tell me about parachuting from low Earth orbit. That's the next real test and one we won't see results from for sometime in most likeliness... and unlike Manhigh the tests probably won't be "manned" which isn't a big deal given out current grade of technology. The ~20 miles of Manhigh couldn't have been done in their timeframe with the accuracy that they were without a man on board. Today that's just not true.
Manhigh was a matter of necessity, not testosterone or bragging rights.
Essentially the surge of WoW players is one of the reasons I think that EQ2 was dumbed down. It's one of the reasons that my interest in EQ2 didn't last long after some changes were made and ultimately the reason that Sony lost a subscriber.
At this point I'm kind of set off by MMORPGs. Just like Hollywood, the gaming industry has a way of creating cookie cutter results. What fun is it going to be for a real gamer if they start to dumb down in order to draw in the casual player? Not that I play 60 hours a week or something but I certainly don't mind a challenge. How many more MMORPGs will be dumbed down to follow WoW's lead?
Also, as a side note; Age of Conan came out today. I took some interest until I found out that it was 50 USD without ever stepping foot in the game and the games website seemed to have little content (not that I spent much time there). Why is it that a gaming company still thinks that we should shell out bucks to buy a game that we need to subscribe to? I'd be much happier and more likely to try it if I could download the content and play for 15 USD a month. I'm a hell of a lot more willing to pay 15 to see if I like a game instead of 50 for a game that I can't play without shelling out another 15 if my interest in it wanes for a few months.
It's a non sequitor or a strawman, but what's another logical fallacy amongst believer, eh?
So the reversal if this isn't just another strawman? Come on now. Again, not caring what Einstein thought about any subject outside of physics, just being able to say that he was of any or no religion ideology is a pretty hollow victory.
so not liking the top 40 could save you.
In ways that are too many to count.
Land of the free my ass.

Maybe they mean as far as where more units are sold per capita.
I bet you're mostly angry because you have nostalgia for the particular set of problems you enjoyed when you first played some previous edition.

I didn't know servers would crash due to a lack of interest.
Seriously, look at the DnD 4.0 thread... I don't think I've seen something go over so lackluster since the Segway came out.

I'm not a fanatic, you're just a shill. :)
And we know who he is BECAUSE of his internet presence. Or do you mean to tell me that Chris Cocker has done something worthwhile and talented?
Many people out there don't even know candidates like Paul exist because the media blackballs them. Let the playing field be even instead of dictating what the masses should know! What a big media shill.

He got more votes than Thompson and Giuliani and they were covered...
A small Peruvian tribe has taught you: Ceremonial Burial.
Or maybe
A small Chilean tribe has given you: Skilled Warrior.
Wow!
You're dead wrong...

He wasn't. Get over it.
Get over what? Maybe you read my post incorrectly but the bottom line of my post is that it's not a victory either way.
And try getting over your martyr complex while you're at it.
Yeah, the guy with a Cthulhu cult sig has a real martyr complex [rolling of eyes]. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT!?!?!?
