Anyway, so now we know Samus' "secret," and while she's still best known for that red and gold armor of hers, fans of the Metroid games also know that each game in the series encourages them to reach the finish line as quickly as possible to catch a glimpse of the woman beneath the suit. While I wouldn't go so far as to say that I disapprove of this--I like the series, after all, and it's targeted at people like me--it also rubs me the wrong way. I don't appreciate that Samus being a woman is a punch line.
Heh, you sound just like me five years ago. Then I found out I hated calculus, switched to IT my third year, 9/11 hit and made the economy slump, and now I'm still looking for three co-ops to graduate. Yep, looking back, NJIT might have been the better choice.
(Mark me as Offtopic or Troll, I don't care. Just needed to get that off my chest.)
Honestly, I use WAP because I'm too cheap to buy a data cable for my phone. Whenever I want to put a MIDI ringtone or a wallpaper on my phone, I just put it up on my server (since these tend to be small and I have a 256kb upload connection, this usually takes less than 5 seconds of my time) and use my phone's browser to download it. Easy, simple, and I save myself 20 bucks.
The thing you seem to forget is that Sony was first. Yes, compared to Xbox and the cube, the PS2 hardware seems kind of lame, but the PS2 was also the first out the gate... with over a year of lead time. Sony set the bar, and MS and the Big N naturally aimed over it.
IGN also has an Xbox preview of it, so there you go. But don't immediately discount Nintendo from letting a game like this get released on their system. Despire all their kid-friendly games, they still allowed an uncensored version of BMX XXX for the GCN. And it was Sony of all people that demanded a censored one.
No, I think he read it right, and I entirely agree. The design of Slashdot's site doesn't have the nice, clean look like the front of a piece of home theatre equipment. In fact, it's pretty cramped and feels like it could be laid out better, with more space and some better defined separation (borders, etc.). Plus, last time I checked, dark green didn't classify as a "bright and shiny" color.
I don't mean to crap on Slashdot here. Content-wise, it's great. It could just stand a little makeover in the looks department is all.
Firebird has won the browser wars? That's quite the statement to say, since it seems IE still has a good ~85% chunk of the market. I think it still needs to carve quite a big piece out of Microsoft's share before we can start claiming any victories.
I figure those people also pronounce the word "triathlon" as "tri-a-tha-lon".
there's a much better-quality 8MB WMV version at TeamXbox
:P)
Actually, I preferred the first one, which had a higher resolution, and wasn't kind of washed out. But I guess that's just me.
(Don't mind me. Just poking fun at the unobvious attempt at sarcasm.
Obviously you've never used a pre-SP GBA before.
Don't worry. There'll still be a Slashdot. It's just that it'll be made up of all us ludicrously skinny people who can't get laid.
Personally, I find that actually kind of smug. Hmph. Thinks he's all high and mighty. Well, we'll show him!
<rallies troops>
Come on, boys! We've taken down entire Web sites before, we can do it again!
The question of whether an alien civilization might convert Earth to their religion, or become a religion unto themselves, is left unconsidered.
That sentence just made me remember "Earth: Final Conflict." Bad Slashdot! Bad!
After some quick Googling, Alderwood seems to be a lake in Wisconsin, and Caswell a lake in Mississippi.
Well, The Spot is already fabricated. Might as well make up when the dot-com bust happened, too.
They probably didn't realize it was you replying to your own post... you loser dumbass. ;)

If the guys decide to do on a strip on this, I won't have to first read Tycho's news post for once! :P

It seems the vyper6 guy he mentions in the article has (as of now) beaten him again by a cool 30 seconds.
My dream of seeing booth babes without having to pay for a costly trip to the West coast can be fulfilled.
Am I the only one who read the headline and thought maybe, just maybe, it had something to do with bringing back Futurama? :P
So, you're saying I should switch back to the old monochrome monitor that came with my XT? All yellow-on-black, all the time!
Check out IGN's hands (or maybe "lips?")-on video demos of the game, and their review.

A textbook triumph of marketing over technology.

But why would you want to run Linux on the Cube when it has no high-capacity storage (i.e., hard drive)?
Leisure Suit Larry for the 21st century
No, actually, it wouldn't be LSL for the 21st century, because they're already making one.

Gah, of course he clarified he did read it wrong right before I post my comment. Ah, well. My opinion still stands.
