Your university dictates which language you _have_ to use?
I just finished a Software Engineering Degree (Honours), and with the exception of first year, we could use any suitable language for the project at hand. In first year C and Java were required, but both are freely (as in beer) available.
This is my experience of dodgy WU patches...
I have two XP machines. A desktop with XP pro, and a laptop with XP home (both running linux as well of course!). One day last year, I did a full patch of both through WU. They both started crashing randomly 2-3 times a day. Both machines had been rock solid for months (Note: they get turned off at night). This persisted for about a week, when a new patch appeared on WU. I installed that on both machines. They have been stable since.
Are you sure you're an only child. There have been cases of two siblings, where one is adopted out, meeting years later, then getting married and having kids.
So true. An hour a go I bought the U2 1990-2000 2CD set with DVD. The DVD is limited Edition, but kinda cool. Makes it worth paying for + U2 is talented unlike a majority the the 'Music' put out these days.
Well that depends on where you live. In New Zealand (where I live) apple pretty much ignores us, so there are very few resellers. This causes Apple products to be A LOT more expensive than descent PCs (which you can buy anywhere). To demonstrate, lets compare: Dell 2.8Ghz P4, 17" LCD, CD-RW/DVD: NZD5627 Apple G4 2x1.0Ghz SuperDrive, 17" LCD: NZD10095
Both are high quality, high performance machines with all the bells and whistles, but the Apple is almost twice the price.
Maybe its the part of the world I live in, but NONE of the 11 DVD's I own, have any compulsary trailers or FBI warnings. Probably because in New Zealand (Zone 4) an FBI warning is absolutely meaningless. So if you can play PAL discs try getting Zone 4 ones!
I'm in a very similar boat. I bought an Asus GeForce 2MX card which came with AsusDVD 2000 which is really PowerDVD2.55. Problem is that the software doesn't support the card. Under win9x is thinks its a GeForce 256 and produces an error, and therefore wont use the hardware properly. Under win2000/xp it doesn't see the hardware at all. So what I get is a slightly jerky and blothcy picture because it uses some crappy YUV2RGB conversion (I think).
Therefore I always watch my DVD's using Xine under Linux (using DeCSS). This makes that run beutifully. Can someone explain how this could in any way be illegal. I pay for all my DVD's (including LOTR's!), and I own a software DVD player (it just sucks). I'm clad I don't live in the US with their dopy (Disney) laws.
Also I own a laptop which doesn't have a DVD-ROM, so I rip my DVD's to DIVX and copy them to my Laptop. Which is great on long trips, Leactures etc. Note that I don't download any movies, nor distribute my ones to anyone. Thats fair use isn't it????
A lot of big-budget movies are now made in Australiasia (Australia and New Zealand) including the Matrix series (Oz), and The Lord Of The Rings series (NZ). Apparently it is cheaper down here. There is also a lot of acting talent from this part of the world. Only problem is those damn Australians claim them all as their own.
Hey that depends on what time zone your in, ehh!
For me it was posted at about 10pm, so I'm full up with caffeine ready to do about 5 hours of University assignments. So I think I'm triping out at the moment, ooh look at the pretty colours. Geez my hand is twitching so much I can hardly type. Getting back on topic (sorry), it is certainly an interesting bit of coding. It would be pretty cool as a screen saver (preferably using OpenGL or god forbid DX) for a bit more performance. Do you think they'll GPL the source?
I live near where Weta is situated, so once I graduate at the end of the year in Software Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering) I'll be trying there!!!

My case is pink, what am I looking at?

I'd just like to point out a VERY good reason to go to the mall to buy CD's, and that is THERE ARE GIRLS AT MALLS!!!!!

Nah, they used students from nearby universities. A couple of my friends are in the scene at the start of LOTR:FOTR.
