Right now the big difference is in package installs. Red Hat has RPM and others have whatever they have (I use the already compatible source installs and manuals so I am unfamiliar with those tools) I see those tools as being attractive to new sites and important. I do not see any other valuable point of standardizing. I think the "Linux" part is the same everywhere and the GNU portion should have variety. Every software distro out there got to where it is by solving specific sets of problems for their user base. Standardizing chooses one response for each problem and neglects the other solutions. Choice is dwindled by this approach.
Yeah for Yet Another Distro. Let's hype up the fact that Linux is about having a choice and then address the problem of "Linux is about having a choice". This will not make any purchase power wield MIS directors change their minds. They are either comfortable with Linux or not. If you now tell them that it doesn't matter wether you use Novell or RedHat because they are the same, people with Business knowledge will say that both companies are unsafe for long term support because neither understand the significance of PRODUCT DIFFERENTIATION.
neither of those example used much brainpower. Again, I say if those are difficult the audience is wrong. The goal should not be to make the average user a programmer. If it is simple to program then simple people will do it and they will make simple design flaws that are simply unbearable. Spaghetti code in Basic will be looked upon as "the days of reliable code" compared to what will come. People will be storing data conveniently in multiple spots and all other rubbish

And they use it to generate statistics and take the "pulse" of their constituency. But they do not rely on or read it in most instances. My congressman told me that they have people peruse the e-mails (sometimes) and put them in a for / not for count. Usually though they look for repeated form mails and use rulefiles to count them. Real paper mail gets read and gets a genuine "form letter" response. Become a regular and the staffers will give your notes to your rep/senator. He says most every one uses that formula so try it out. The responses I get from my congressman usually include the form response and a small hand written note with quick thoughts and thanks for writing.
The bill would also punish people "who bring a video camera into a movie theater to make a copy of the film for distribution" with up to three years imprisonment and fines.
This is the good part. All of this was MPAAs agenda etc... But people carrying cameras into theaters is a big part of how they gathered public momentum (political momentum was acquired on a COD basis)
Other than the snipe at the administration, which can be proven true since even the new ag has argued that we can hold people without access to lawyers, there is no reason to call an accurate statement flamebait.
Wish you were right on this. It should help, but poverty is caused more by government corruption and lawlessness than by lack of infrastructure. Given good government, Uganda would soon be more like Canada than Uganda. Unfortunately, no one knows how to ``give'' good government.
Give them the Canadian government. Canadians are basically good people and would behave without their government.

No wonder babies are so socially awkward, they're statisticians.
There is not much content to my post here. I was looking to say exactly what you said and rather than post redundant I will just say. Right on, 100%. Nintendo realized they were in err and Nintendo apologized (even issuing product as a goodwill gesture). By accepting the apology runelatus can show that he is a good upstanding moral person who believes in proper conduct in society. Thus he can cause a dent in the perception of SGs' audience.
Not only are they giving away a database which is a great fit for small to mid-size companies (which may be in a growth phase) but they are developing specialized tools to migrate to their larger commercial platforms. So, your small company chooses derby because of cost then when you are huge you choose DB2 because of lower cost of migration. Excellent idea, I hope it works as well as it sounds.
A big advantage of statistics-based interfaces is that they automatically enforce correctness, because correct strings are more probable than incorrect ones.
Though probably college educated the writer of the above sentence has probably NOT BEEN a TA in an English class. Truly correct strings are a rare find:-)
Yet you choose to turn a blind eye to the real issue and use it for a platform (or a soapbox, if you will) to make your assumptions. Who are you trying to deceieve, me, or yourself?
No, it is not a benchmark you are right, I was frivolous with terms. My fault. The point I am making and the only true point is that this goes with a grain of salt. If ford released a study showing that on bumpy roads only fords were managable would you buy into it... I hope not. If the links and the files prepared generously for you by the person with a VESTED interest in proving A SPECIFIC point constitute proof to you. Well, I am happy that your world is so clear.
Many Bothans died to bring us this information.
If I had MOD points I would use them for you. +1 funny for bitch slapping parent post!

Same? No
Compatible? Yes

they've got a webform

what other classic toys do you remember from your youth that are still fun enough that kids will play with them today?
Power outlets, broken glass and matches.
$20 seems a bit much for the windows source code. I think $9.99 would have been more accurate.
Not when you throw in the massaging showerhead from Renco.

Get over it and start focusing on what the software does, not how to classify/name it.
I disagree with this comment classifying and naming software makes it sound alive. I think we should describe or label it.

troll but true. Also, probably overrated would apply as it is not a "polite" way to start the discussion. But the fact remains.

And evil will always win, because good is dumb!
Bush doesn't have a yes/no test but tries to pick Justices who interpret the Constitution strictly
Except for the parts that he needs amended.

You're right. Flamebait. Sorry cranky.
Nothing to see here
That George W got in office due to user error.
One could only hope that the lawyers are honest enough to not let you through with the way you factor argument.
Since you wish to add insult to the discussion...One would hope that your writing is limited to internet forums 'with the way you craft sentence'.
