possesion of child porn is teh only possesion crime in the USA that does not carry defenses for people who do so unknowingly or by accident. The easiest thing to do is change this law.
because the porn was legal in another country, but not the USA. Sites in other countries are more likely to use malware and the age of consent is a year or two lower in most.
excuse me dude..BUT some of the best beer in the world is made in the USA. Sure it is all from microbrews, as american style lager is SH*T. Anythhing from anchor, Real Ale, or countless others is great beer..good as anything from germany or anywhere else.
actually all the candidates including HRC, pledged to not campaign in MI or FL. Obama simply kept his promise, HRC of course lied like the stinking dog in lipstick that she is.
i am sorry you are wrong...I have owned 4 other players. My Ipod is used MUCH more. I use an 80 g classic. I even use it to watch movies, alot. The only thing I would change is to make I-tunes for linux, so I could dump windows and go back to 100% ubuntu.
it sounds like what we have in this country is a shortage of capital. Rich people all have the best insulation, etc because they can afford to spend the initial big bucks to save more down the road. But this hurts us all because most people can not. We need an orginazation to provide more capital for poor or working class americans to conserve. This would help the economy and the enviroment, plus ease financial burdens on lower income households.
we should also mandate all new water heaters be tankless by 2015, or sooner. they save 8-27 % on energy for heating water. If the eco nuts would stop bothering SUV drivers and try to mandate changes that save consumers money WITHOUT drastic changes to lifestyle we could conserve a lot more.
well large apartment communities are a place to start. Here in texas we have hundreds of large multi-unit communities. They almost all have terrible windows, doors and insulation. Require them to all have double pained glass ( instead of the large single pain sliding glass doors on the balconey) and decent insulation. I used to rent one of those and my 800 sq ft apt had a higher per month bill than my parents 2500 sq ft house did. And frankly that house was not all that well insulated either and it had an ancient AC unit from the 70's.
Look it's easy.
Step 1: allow 2 year contracts to "own" the lines in any given city.
Step 2: Have a fixed maximum price per year, you can go uner but NOT over.
Step 3: Every 2 years interested companies place a bond or secure insurance to be fiscaly fit enought to provide service to that area.
Step 4: Put the companies names on a ballot, voters decide in the election who gets the contract.
My compaq laptop cost less than an iphone (509.00 BEFORE rebate, 479.00 after) at circuit city. It runs vista well actually ( 1 gig of ram and 50 bucks if i want to make it a 2 gig pc) for the things you use a laptop for. It has 15.4 " screen , g wireless and 100 gig HD. I can not see spending 300 on a "Budget" laptop when a fully functional one is SO cheap. You just have to spend 30 minutes removing all the SHIT ware pre-installed. The only things i dislike about my laptop are the lack of built in web cam( I could have had that for the same price with a 14" screen from acer) and lack of firewire( same thing on the acer I almost bought). all these are easily fixed. I might have liked a PMCIA port, but you can get a usb connector for cellphone internet if you need it( right now I do not).
anti gun advocates always bring up this statistic. It is based on bad logic. The most famous study only said that people who own guns are more likely to be shot vs the population as a whole. It DID not specify that the owner was shot with his/her own gun. http://www.gunowners.org/fs0404.htm. In fact they did not even have to be shot in there own home to be counted as a gun owner being shot.
The main flaws with this kind of study are :
Guns DO NOT CAUSE SUICIDE. However anybody wanting to shoot him/herself will need to own a gun. Outlaw guns and people will just use rope. The majority of US gun deaths are suicide (from wikipedia)
People who are in dangerous areas are more likely to get shot. Of course they are more likely to own guns.
people with jobs that make them "targets" (jewelers, carry lots of cash, work late/alone) are more likely to own guns.
People whom are targeted(have an actual person/s intent on harming them) are more likely to own guns.
wiki has an interesting article that explains why studies like this are ofyen wrong headed read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecological_fallacy and find out
ACTUALLY you are repeating a falsehood. The ONLY reasons why people are more likely to be killed with a gun they own are suicides, family violence and accidents. instances where an un armed intruder (or anybody else)takes a gun and uses it on the owner are VERY rare. if you live alone, are not suicidal, and have your fire arm maintained by a pro..you are not at all likely to be shot with your own weapon.
Police miss 90% of the time because they are shooting at moving targets, usually somebody running away. This is fine. Most people do not mind using a few extra rounds on an intruder.
I might ad that for every law abiding citizen shot with a fire arm, 10 criminals are stopped (by law abiding ARMED citizens) from committing a crime. In more than 95% of these instances NO shots are fired, merely brandishing the weapon is enough to deter the criminal.
Criminals are predatory, e.i. they look for WEAKER targets. There is little payoff for a fare fight. Nobody but the dumbest person will pick an armed target when there are so many un armed people to rob/rape etc. Even armed crooks do not want to get in a fire fight, they might get shot!
The kinds of criminals willing to risk armed targets get paid for it. They are not gonna rob a house and get a few grand Max in cash and fenced goods. They are gonna stick up stores or jewelers and get the big money. Hell i have a friend who drove a brinks truck. They where instructed not to shoot back unless in danger!
anything a goverment employee does in the course of his/her job IS by it's very nature public. No employee of the people has a right to "Privacy" while representing the public at large.
umn i am sorry but my cousin HAD to leave her TV on at all times for her dog. If she did not he went NUTZ and tore up her house. He had "issues" with being alone, but otherwise was a good dog (Tijo RIP). Her vet actually gave her the idea and it worked well. Although a radio would have done just as good. It was funny, I found out when I house sat for her. She told me "Make sure if you leave the dog watches TV" I thought at first she was on acid, but then she explained.
supply and demand govern health care costs. Sadly, we do not ( in the US) address this by increasing supply in key areas. There are not enough doctors, solution open more medical schools with tax breaks for doctors. A doctor wants to immegrate to the USA let him, hell PAY HIM TO! No taxes for the first 5 years!. We will have a lot more doctors( making 100-150 k per year instead of 300+k per year) and drive costs down a LOT!. We can do the same with other key jobs. economies of scale( more doctors use more x rays, particle beams, etc) will drive down other costs. Right now if i invent a new medical laser my R&D cost is spread across the number of doctors who coudl use it, and the number of those who will. Double that amount and BOOM my R&D cost per unit sold is cut in half. Then my price per unit goes down.
book publishing is not ruled by the same kind of tight knit cartel that rules music and movie production...it never will be.
This means that the ability to cheaply publish books that reach a HUGE number of people for little or no money will happen.
As it stand right now i can publish a text file using open office for ZERO dollars. I can offer it for download free( or for a fee) on a web site for next to nothing( text files using very little bandwidth) however few people will read something of any length published electronicly...a better reading device makes this a much more viable option.
barnes and noble( among others) has been trying to get the feds to allow them a generic license to print books that are out of print for a set fee for some time...legislation (somewhat like CAARP) could be passed easily to allow this for ebooks.
for ebooks to work..they have to be cheaper than regular books...even some USED regular books..
Marketing this should start not with fiction...but with books that people HAVE to buy.
Imagine if a college student can save 75% buy purchasing ebooks every year. This would more than pay for the price of the reader. It would also get readers into the hands of almost all college students FAST
Imagine lawyers buying ebook readers and saving tens of thousands not buying huge legal book collections( or the office space to store them)...
ebooks will changethe publishing industry if they are ever adopted...file sharing as it stands does not change much about book sales..it will if we all switch to ebooks..more importantly publishing ebooks will cost almost NOTHING for a truly global reach...this could be the biggest thing for free speach( printed anyway) since the printing press..
rock on..my fiance is dark black...and sexy...my parents do nto mind though..of course her parents are totally against it!
yes but they never give them REAL pearage, as in a title you can hand down...that is worth something..

step 1 create chat bot for feds to use to pose as kids step 2 create chat bot for feds to use posing as peds step 3 PROFIT!
ok but a beter analogy would be me standing outside your property listening to the loud music you had playing on your stereo...
