    I'm sorry for saying he was blinded. He's just plain stupid, and shouldn't have replied to my initial comment. You might want to look up what sarcasm is BTW, since I was being sarcastic in claiming the cable companies are evil. You may want to consider that you might be lacking in the intelligence department as well. If you don't like my post, piss off.

    There's no point in providing a hacking challenge with no reward. All you've proven if it isn't hacked is you didn't interest anyone enough to bother. If you offered $1,000,000, as an opposite extreme, and no one hacked it, then you can say that even for a million dollars no one was able to hack the machine. It's hard to imagine no one bothered with a large reward.

    Bad analogy. Unix is supposed to support multiple users.

    A better analogy. I let someone move into my apartment complex and give him the keys to his apartment. He shouldn't be able to break into anyone elses apartment. And he shouldn't be able to break into the office and get the master key.

    In business there's strong feedback to maximise profit, and cut waste. In govt. the feedback is much weaker. In neither case is it perfect.

    A local account is much different than physical access to a machine. If an OS is secure, local users shouldn't be able to get root access. The reason physical access nullifies security is that you can just reboot the machine with your own OS and mount the hard drive and modify to your hearts content.

    Socialists countries always give consumers extra rights at the expense of producers. How is this any different? In America producers and consumers pay an agreed upon price by both for a product, and either can walk away if they don't agree.

    Yes and programmers are the only ones adding any value to a software company, and ASIC designers are the only ones who add value to chip companies, and engineers are the only ones who add value to automobile manufacturing.
