The problem is that we hear a lot about vaporware from amateur / hobbyist so most people won't even care (and they're not to blame).
For us, it's not much a matter of survival but just doing what we enjoy. Should it be successful then great! If not, we still had fun doing it... just like any other hobby.
Of course, an amateur / hobbyist status doesn't grant you immunity from rants and such but so is the reality when you decide to go public with a project of yours.
So in the line of actual projects that reached release, here's my shameless plug: http://www.golemizer.com/
What was it?... Something like "SWG is the game we would have loved to like"?
The next steps in that forward progression will be along the path of war. McDaniel pointed out that a big part of Star Wars is the Galactic Civil War, in which the Rebels are struggling to overthrow the oppressive Empire. To that end, the SWG development team will be looking at ways to ramp up the conflict.
SWG changed directions so many times that in the end, it went nowhere.
The initial direction could have been better but still, one can only tell that they would have been better to stick with it and work it out instead of making of this game a running headless chicken.
ah! If only life was that simple...
It's all good until you are the victim
Oh, so I guess a kid being bullied shouldn't go to school in the first place? Don't waste your time to answer...
The rest of the community benefit from the submitted story and the submitter benefit from the included link. Why do you think community exist? So that people can benefit from them... Otherwise, what would be the point? Whatever way you benefit from it.
Is that those changes should have been there since launch. Of course, it's quite easy to say this at this point. Too many professions was a challenge they weren't able to overcome. The big sandbox concept was a good idea but they left their players hanging with no reward and no impact on the world. The skill system was a good thing but poorly implemented with big balance issues (balance being important since the Galactic Civil War, read PvP here, was supposed to be the end game). Surely others games wanting to use a skill based system will be able to learn from SWG.
I played from launch until pre-CU. I'm now looking at SWG as a brand new game. Of course, a brand new game is full of bugs, have balance issues,... If the game survive, it will probably become a fun experience for those joining in a couple of months or 1 year after NGE. As for me, I'd really like to play in a Star Wars mmorpg but I came to see that this game is NOT a Star Wars game.

Ok, where is this article about Déjà Vu?...
... if the woman was ugly. People like to get others attention by provoking non-sense debates.

Why do they even care to announce games. Is it proven that hyped raised sales%
Half the people in here doesn't care about this and the other half just hitted the reply button by reflex...
Only good web page to the average Slashdot troll is a blank web page. That or a web site coded on a typewriter.

Wow, it's simple as that. Congrats, you just solved this problem in the entire world. Quite surprising nobody thought of that before...
I guess you must be the same kind of people that are blaming girls for getting raped... Until it's your own daughter or girlfriend.
So, what are you still doing here?
