I agree. But you know, most music is crap from any generation or century... Sometimes a good band will coinside with a few other great bands, and suddenly you have a raging music scene. That is all.
But most bands, composers, etc. put out crap. That's because, it is very difficult to write anything better than crap. Very difficult indeed. How many Beatle quality bands have their been? How many fantastic Beetovens? Few indeed.
But even so the music industry is stifling new innovation and good bands by giving us regurgitated Brittney shit. The music industry will create a music scene with their network, then kill it with their network.
Was this less so in the past generations? Probably not, except that they have perfected the art of, "fad control". Good Bands don't start fads, or control them. The "big Man" of the "Fad Control Industry" ie: (MTV) is like the uber-fad-control-interface-module.

How do we get iron.. ok this is the process.. What tools do we need to do this.. Hmm. x and y. OK after some problem solving they have raw iron. Ok now what do I do with it. Well we need to get it real hot, says http://www.xyz.org. this is the method. after much trial and error they get processed steel. We need to build more tools.. hmm.ok lets build a lathe. ok how do we do that. Well http://www.z.com says this.

Modern Sanitation techniques, not to mention the ability to communicate to people with skills they might not have. There are circuit diagrahms galore out on the internet. Methods for building electronics. water pumps. hell the ability to communicate with your fellow third worlders. Increases ability to resist an oppressive government (possibly, but hard)

I for one, was very afraid of this alteration ability we have. Camera seems to be king in the courtrooms and if the pOlice tamper witht the evidence how were you to prove otherwise? This helps, and I am glad.
