Initially I was actually sending data from/dev/urandom, first it was just a tarpit and files would never reach the 100%. But it didn't take long enough before it became too popular and I had to thicken the tar for the larger files. And a certain point I even added a limit to the number of concurrent downloads. And in the end it only showed the service unable error that 20 (non-existing) downloads were already busy.
I don't know if the university ever received a complaint about it, as they never notified me (they probably checked the the page themselves and saw it was fake).
"Dies" as in "dead", not as in "without charge". Laptops usual work when connected to an power outlet even though the battery no longer works. But does an iPad? An laptop battery can usually be replaced easily without the need to send it away for a couple of weeks.
What to do when the battery dies? What to do when you forgot your iPad? You can't borrow the one from a friend because (s)he needs it to read an other book. (Also, you might be violating the license when you do that).
People like this man Hurd should be thankful to God for enabling the possibility for making millions come to light.
I always find it funny when religion people would thank God for their success. If they even did some research into their own religion they would know what God isn't the deity that would grant wishes and hand out things like success. If anything it would be the other party that does it (usually in return for souls and what not).
People from the EU care that PayPal is under the regulations of the EU Bank thingy. I'm not sure what this implies, but at least it gives me some protection against PayPal US' shady business (I hope).
DirectX isn't as backwards compatible as advertised. A lot of old games don't run well with newer versions of DirectX, in most cases it's just small things that are an annoying and don't result in a real application crash. I've seen games create issues when a new DirectX version came out since the introduction of DirectX 7, a lot of games using 6.4 suddenly had missing sounds, in some cases certain parts of the input handling was broken. And on a rare occasional there were noticeable render artifacts. In quite some cases this could easily be solved by putting the dsound.dll or dinput.dll that came with the DirectX of the game in the directory of the game itself.
Back in the day we only needed powerful GPUs to play state of the art games. But it is really starting to look like you are also going to need it for browsing the world wide web.
Bioware/EA also offers download only versions of the games. Steam games can also be bough as "normal" retail versions, but still require Steam. When you bought a retail Steam game (like: Just Cause 2, Borderlands, Mafia 2, Half Life 2, etc.) you will have to through the additional hassle to set up an account. For Steam games you also have to log in every time you want to play a game.
GFWL does have an auto login feature. GFWL doesn't require logging in or being online, it depends on the games. Most GFWL games I played didn't require being online, or to register you product online. You just had to create a GFWL profile (which was only stored on your system). These games are: Gears of War, Fallout 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum. For Fallout 3 you can also get rid of GFWL completely, can be done by simply installing the patch directly from Bethesda.
But yes, GFWL is quite an POS. It fails to log in often, or takes a long time, sometimes forgets the saved credentials. Installing patches through GFWL are a real PITA. Newer versions of GFWL broke older games, which then needed a patch, a patch you could only install from within the GFWL interface of the running game (chicked-egg, hurray).
Oops...
I accidentally your post: http://i56.tinypic.com/68zwn9.png
I thought Apple hated Flash, stating poor performance and what not.
I did an experiment like that years ago, see: http://web.archive.org/web/20080624062729/http://el-muerte.student.utwente.nl/warez/

It does stop me from clicking on the scroll bar to scroll.
It must be crap with a name too similar to diarrhea.
Too large for a T-Shirt
The author could have known that if he'd simply look it up through Google. But that would invalidate the point he was trying to make.
Why isn't it possible to amek the fibre-optic system redundant? Isn't that what you want anyway?
ps, a system is down/unreachable when there is no hartbeat. These systems do check for hartbeats right?
No, only people from the US care about that.

I seriously think "zing" would have been a better name for it.
Ok, the worst encounter so far was a flying spiny.
The level generator also creates levels which cannot be completed. It generated a level for me where I started in front of an enemy.
These new enemies are a bitch.
A bullet bill with wings? Horizontally moving piranha plants you have to jump on to kill?
Where the sun doesn't shine?

Julian Assange, the person, is not of public interest, it's private interest.

And here I thought the name facebook was based on the well known real world counter part: yearbook
Sorry, but "work as advertised"? None of those systems are advertised on the box to be even present or how they should work.

Don't forget about all Steam games.
Or the recent Bioware games.
War. War never changes.
