    IcedTea isn't any safer form the mentioned patents (neither is .NET as far as I can tell from those quite generic patents that cover a lot of VMs).

    Silent updates is the reason why I received a 30 euro phone bill for a few minutes.

    I was on holiday, and let a friend use my laptop and telephone to send an important email (it was party invitation, nothing more important than that). And of course... I forgot to displace all things that would silently try to update whatever they could when a network connection was found. Withing a short time, a few megabyte was downloaded. And mobile data from a foreign country is more expensive than HP ink.

    So please mozilla, provide a nice toggle though the preferences screen to change this, an not through a about:config option.

    There are no statistics of how many people who accept the cash donate it to other open source projects who need the cash.

    The other half of Runic comes from wildtangent. And the last half is in fact new, or at least according to their mobygames profiles.

    And because Runic has 3 halfs their games are 50% more fun that the closest alternative.

    So if enough people are harmed by the flaws in VAC and enough people complain loudly they will fix the issue?

    And in any other case where they incorrectly banned people they will simply ignore them.

    so, only for Mass Effect did they use an off the shelf engine.

    It doesn't happen often that the develop remains copyright over their creations when signing up with a publisher.

    If you look at the continuation of the Lemmings series you'll see DMA Design isn't involved anymore, but it's Psygnosis/Sony.
