That's not that far off with Verizon. Back when I had DSL from them I'm sitting at home burning a sick day waiting for a truck to arrive and after 4 or 5 hours of waiting I call and get another confirmation that "yes yes, a truck is coming". Finally the phone rings. It's verizon. No they aren't calling to say the truck is on the way, they are calling to ask if I'd like to upgrade my phone service. What utter bastards.
Actually a lot of stuff can set of radar detectors on the K and Ka bands w/o being one of you people. Just read any radar detector review and look for the part where they review how many false alarms they got.
With all due respect if he ends up having to design Engineering applications or some such that check computer designs, then yeah, he had better know his electromagnetics. On the other hand, if he ends up writing web browsers, or office applications or something then why the hell would he need that. While it is usefull, you seem to forget that there are many CS problems that do not involve calculus.
Wow. What a fantastically high reward. About $20 at most, assuming they would have bought the DVD in the first place. Somehow I don't think this is worth 3 years prison time and $250K in penalties
"ou want an RBL that has obligations to you? Then pay them for their service. Make a contract, specify what you want them to do and at what price. Until then, quit trying to burden people who are volunteering their time, equipment, and/or money to do a good deed. It's people like you that made it necessary to pass "good samaritan laws" to protect good samaritans from lawsuits when they voluntarily stop to help others."
So.. somebody who isn't using blacklists should pay all the blacklists to make sure he gets off them in a timely manner? Gee, that seems an awful lot like paying 'protection' money.
" If they had educated the parents on EM fields a little more, they might not have the problem they have now. Of course, such ignorance might be unstoppable."
Yeah, thank god most Americans took some EE courses on electromagnetics... That being said, these people do have a bad case of the stupids.
hmmm. Would be interesting to know what products were shipped w/o testing, or are shipped that way now. I've been doing an internship in software testing, and from what I see a lot of effort goes into testing, it's not an afterthought in any sense.
Thats not quite true. This is how that senior discount might work if companies had more information. Say two senior citizens, A and B were both going out to see a movie. Person A is living only on their social security. The theater knows that they would not go see the movie at full price (through personal preference, demographics, whatever) and so they get the discount. Then person B goes to the window. The company knows that they can afford, and would be willing to pay the full price for the movie, so they charge them the full 8.50 instead. I think the idea from the article is that if they had enough information they could charge whatever the market would bare on a per customer level, resulting in consumers paying the maximum price they were willing to pay on everything.
Hmm wonder how long this watch will actually last? Fossil is actually signed on as one of the manufactures for the upcoming Microsoft SPOT watch, which meets all of the high points that the reviewer mentions. It has changeable watch faces, and is actually set up only to let you view your calendar, address books, and new streams. This makes me wonder if Fossil is going to try and sell two competing lines of PDA watches or just drop one of them.

Yeah, I remember the instructor telling us that as well

It's Megamaid sir! She's gone from suck to blow!
Most RPGs would work, although you would be SOL for Crystal Chronicles and any Zelda games, but yeah any action games are out the window.

We have to live on campus for 3 years here.. so yeah I'd say it's the school
only 1 knob, perhaps it was like the BMW iDrive system?
I second the battery life comment. I took a road trip from Durham, NC down to Florida and it didn't die till a few exits before South Beach.
Infected PC : Me me me me me Other PC: Me too
Got a wiperblade for a pinto? Sure!, seems like a fair trade.

looping "It's a Small World"? That's definitly cruel and unusual punishment.

yeah. I hated it when Clinton bombed Iraq to deflect attention from Monica

how about a sawed off shotgun. . .GROOVY!
Thank God! With this powerful special interest group behind Linux, nothing can possibly oppose it!
Where the hell do I put stuff like reference meterials, notepad, or even, god forbid, a cup of coffee? At least the boring desk works

What? Windows has more market share? I demand a recount!

And I bet you can't guess what happens next. He fixes her computer? Now Jeffrey, don't be obtuse!
I can see it now: 'We are keeping 60% of the donations to pay for the cost of taking donations'
