    Starsky asks for a "distributed" file system, not just a "network" file system :) For such a thing, the only project I can finger out, is:

    www.globus.org In Grid Computing, there is also the concept of Data Grid (which is being used, for instance, in a few med schools in the USA) which could be relevant to what he asked for.

    you'd be surprised, at least in the brazilian and portuguese market. It's pretty virgin in the game developing sector, and publishers are keeping an eye out for almost all projects made by "amateurs" in the industry. check:

    "*xpto* uses linux" news are getting quite boring :P anyways, I believe (with nothing to back this up) that in spite linux/*BSD beeing much favorable platforms to develop such computer controlled systems, windows still outbeats linux in the quantity of serious projects beeing deployed with the said OS. Dont't take this as a troll, it's just the idea I have about this subject.
