It just so happened that I was screwing around with my msu.ed (Michigan State University) link shortly after commenting on this thread and now it's back to where it was pointing before. It's a joke link/site and contains no malicious coding or other paranoia inducing content... just a deviously annoying prank. I like to joke & prank, it's my nature:) Go ahead and copy the link and send it to your friends... they'll love you for it!
It's a joke link/site. There's no malicious coding or anything else. I like to joke and prank but I would NEVER do anything malicious to yours or anyone elses computer. That is just as bad as mugging someone, IMHO. If you can't close IE or pop-ups, that's your fault, not mine or IE's. See the post above yours and quit being a moron. If you're running a pop-up killer and anti-virus in the background, you've nothing much to be concerned about when cruising the net. Save the link and e-mail it to your friends, it's fun and it's completely harmless... notwithstanding deviously annoying;'P
Well, I give you two thumbs up sir, hopefully before you get flamed. It's a pity to see so many people throw caution to the wind for instant gratification, never thinking of anyone but themselves. Of course, it goes without saying, if any one of these Liberals lose a loved one to a terrorist act on American soil, they'll be singing a different tune... and hopefully feeling a little bit of guilt thinking about how all the other people that felt like themselves slowed the processes that might have resulted in saving their loved ones life.
Um, yeah, I must have missed that part of the U.S. Constitution and the amendments about Freedom of Internet. No one's taking away your freedom Einstein. It's about regulating something requiring attention at this point in time. What? You think everyone should drive the freeways in Los Angeles or anywhere else in America like the autobahn? I'd love to but driving speed is regulated. What? You'd like to be able to send your 10-year old to the store to grab a pack of smokes and a quart of Schlitz for you because you're too busy (or just too damn lazy to go yourself)? Can't... tobacco and alcohol is regulated. Do you have ANYONE in your family who lived in the United States during WWII? Have you ever sat and talked in-depth of the sacrifices of the draft, food rationing, mandatory recycling of EVERYTHING, IOU's or ration coupons instead of pay at your job, the curfews, the CITIZENS who walked the streets banging on house doors at 3:00 am because a sliver of light can be seen from outside through the blacked out window, having to walk for MILES because there's NO GAS because of rationing and not even the buses run, the sleepless nights in fear of losing a friend or loved one because EVERYONE IN AMERICA had SOMEONE the knew and loved fighting overseas, the lack of quality medical care at home because the vast majority of doctors and medical supplies were overseas, NEED I GO ON? I'm not brain washed... you're just spoiled rotten. The difference between you and me is I'm WILLING to make the small sacrifices, which will hardly be "giving away of your freedom". I can see quite clearly and I don't see anyone being "litigated" against -whatever that's supposed to mean- who've "done nothing wrong". This "war" has caught hundreds of terrorists and killed as many more... good riddance to them all, may they be buried in pigskins face down. It's a cancer, it spreads all around from top to bottom and you dig it out wherever you find it. Grow up kid and get an education while you're at it. You're not giving up any freedoms. You're just helping out the country. Is that a bad thing?
One of the many ways terrorists and their cells/hierarchy communicate is through the net as briefly touched on here. Even CyberCafes are probably going to be hit with new regulations from HomeLand Security and they're all pretty much landline. It's a "War on Terrorism" and however terrorists use the net and access it, we all have to sacrifice a little right now so maybe we save lives or even end the "war" sooner, rather than later... "war" inconveniences everyone, bitching won't help. Don't get your undies all in a wad over it. The sacrifices made by our parents and grandparents during WWII was certainly at least as bad as anything we can foresee for ourselves. This too is a global war because terrorism is global. Whatever it takes is just enough, so suck it up. Besides, there's no reason most if not all the "inconvenient" new regulations can't be lifted or adjusted if and when this war ends. We have the Democrats making sure of this as much as they can before they even begin fully debating new legislation and implementing it. Republicans are onboard with that philosophy as well, for the most part. But we'll all have to cross that bridge when we get to it.
I used to think it would be cool to live in Finland. I thought they were a mellow, friendly, low-key kinda country. They are hard asses. Check out this link about traffic some fines in Finland... HARDCORE. Looks like they base their fines on a percentage of your YEARLY income... doh!
...suck. They are all basically the same whatever the genre. Press the GO key, Press the USE key, shoot, cast a spell, bleh. One of these days they will develop TRUE affordable VR for the home for online play and we'll have some real interactive fun then. Until then, it's just a waste of time (and money, lotsa money)... go read a book or better yet, go outside and "interact" with flesh & blood people.
...,now it's just a different drummer. He's worth $165 million. It'll cost him most if not all of that just for project development, to purchase/lease the land, pay the fees and payoff the inspectors, build all the buildings, equip the buildings with staff and equipment, and build the launch facility. And the major obstacle is always money in these private ventures. He'll need investors and he'll find some, but it'll be small potatoes. I'd love to see him succeed in our lifetimes though. It'd be a proud acheivement for the world. Maybe after all these stinking wars end we'll realize this attainable and worthwhile dream.
But Deep Space One had something Mars Polar Lander lacked: an onboard robot. Lions and Tigers and Immbots, OH MY! When I get my Mbot (with the life-like hair and kung-fu grip), it better not be yellow-green with yellow eyes and I want her shaped, to look, and feel just like Brooke Burke.
Oops, there's one from Cliff in there... never see that guy get his submissions posted hardly:/ wtf... everyone running this place and the submitters getting posted related? or what?
Anyone else notice all the stories from top to bottom of page are submissions from chrisd or Timothy? They blowin' CmdrTaco and/or CowboyNeal? No wonder none of my submissions have been posted... it's not like they weren't every bit as interesting, dynamic and fulla the fluff expected on/.
I think FireFly was great in the beginning but as is the case with most TV series, it pooped out quite a bit. Some shows capture you forever and some shows become worth watching because it takes 40 minutes for the clothes to dry and 20 minutes to fold them. I think the guy who submitted this "news" was the same guy who submitted this
"Both the satellite and the booster will after a while fall back to Earth. Both will burn with maybe small bits reaching the Earth's surface, depending on what materials the satellite was made of," Kreidenko said. "But there is no danger." This guy Kreidenko doesn't even know what the ingredients are and says there's no danger. I wonder if he'll feel the same way when the nuclear reactor lands in his front yard and makes a big brown spot in his lawn.
I've been through quite a few computers since my first Apple IIe. I will upgrade as much as I can then build a new one when I can't upgrade further. With all the leaps and bounds in computer tech and peripherals, I have been through many computers. When I upgrade, I donate the old hardware and/or peripherals to high schools. When I build anew, I donate to elementary schools, homeless shelters, recovery homes, churches, whomever non-profit. I just replace the hard-drive (my personal info security) and pop for a new inexpensive reliable one. I install the OS and drivers on the new drive and *bam*, new comp for the people who really need one and no trash or hazard to the environment from my hands. I always include information on where to dispose of the computer to whomever I give it to so when they are done with it, it gets properly handled (hopefully). I'm all for helping developing and struggling countries, but home is where the heart is. Besides, I did my part, I bought a KIA 4x4... *gah* the things I do for democracy and capitalism.
They steal a little of my time and a lot of my patience everytime I encounter pop-ups. As so many have said, truly, banners are an eyesore but they're fine. If I see one I'm interested in checking out, I'll click it. Pop-ups are advertising forced down my eye-socket. Some sites with numerous pop-ups and especially the ones where you close one pop-up and 5 more open in its place, make my eyes bleed. Calling the client end-user the "thief" for using a pop-up killer is like saying, "The guy who got robbed at the ATM at gun point and ended up killing the robber in self-defense deserves the death penalty for murder because he defended himself with a gun of his own." Everytime we drive down the street, listen to the radio, watch T.V. or even go ANYWHERE or do ANYTHING, we are bombarded by advertising. I pay good money for my HighSpeed ISP. I paid for my computer and all my software on it. I want to be able to surf the internet, which was supposed to be free and open to all, without having to pay for it with bleeding eyes and a spiked frustration level. Fine, advertise with banners, but KILL ALL POP-UPS, before it drives me to breaking out the AK. Seriously, I will never even try to visit a website again that uses this code and won't let me in just 'cuz I use a pop-up killer. Seems as though the old addage of "The Customer's always right" is totally and completely dead, period.
Um, why bother? What is the desired end result of this whole project? A new OS? I went to the site and read up and I couldn't find the long-term goal of this whole Fresco/Berlin thingy... frankly, if this is just a hobby or a time-killer software equivelent of an erector set, I think I'd rather do laundry. Unless these Fresco people are Bubble Boys, even cleaning the leaves out of my rain gutters would give me more self-satisfaction.
If ignorance is Bliss, why am I always so down in the dumps?
funny... it's not my page or site. i have no idea who that guy or the monkey is.

Yah... "next up" as in next rant, royalties for elevator music is ludicrous. Heck, with the music they do play in elevators, it should be criminal.
Link was messed up... HARDCORE

We tax the tips waiters & waitresses make. Next up... Elevator music royaltie fees for large building owners.
