but it would have been a lot more interesting if the author had provided us with some background information. He now makes a lot of statements, but where did he get all this information from??
the idea of the paper is nice though, now it is time to write something a bit more scientific about the subject?
Well they dont do it because they wont to help the world. But spam means extra bandwidth, so extra cost. And maybe customers blame the ISP, so that might mean less customers. So it is the ISP's best interest to do something about spam.
why not get a huge server where more users can benefit from the processing powers?
and what kind of videocard does this baby pack? that must give some great doom3 performance:)
check this out: http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/
I dont know how to write an extension, let alone yours. But it might be an idea to look around for an extension that does what your plugin does, or at least something similar and work from there?
It looks like your project would be ideal for an extension
i do it from time to time on a linux box. it handles a lot of users and their websites and the php scripts handle website/mysql related things for me (CLI/crontab). Works great.
but my amd 700mhz proc is still quite fast enough to give me debian, fluxbox, openoffice etc.. ah well there must be enough people out there who cant live without a fast proc
Although i have to agree with the fact that not every college gamer is nerdy or anti-social, they cant be serious when they say it doesnt impact someone studies..
if you play 6 hours a day, and you go out regulary and do stuff, there isnt much room for studies anymore, or is there? It also eats into your sleeping time, not good for concentrating. Maybe they just polled some people who play 1 hour a day or so?
Well I live in the Netherlands and havent lost a singe sms ever. Sure at really peak ours they can get there a bit later, but thats not too bad.. (had that at 1/1/2003 0:45)
agree on the tool thing.. but erm mp3.com is great, it also has stuff from record companies. And sometimes you can download music for free. I actually discovered some nice artists there and bought their album after listning some mp3s.
So it cant get on my machine, then it will ddos me.. nice.. but what do I care, it will stop doing that and then my machine is still clear.. and if it will affect a lot of machines on my ISP's network, wont the ISP do something about it?
