The new Homeland Security Act has many provisions that threaten rocketry in the United States. Both small rockets and high power models are affected. We need your help to make rocketry legal again. Please write your State's Senator now. Click Here for more information.

So you reloaded Slashdot how many times so that you could do your best to get a First Post?

If you really want to get sympathy, don't make a post that competes with a short story, dialogue and all. Pity-magnet posts rarely result in anything but you getting a chance to express yourself on a site which probably has a strong lean towards pro-p2p. Instead run for political office.

Change the world. Maybe try to start an online Christian Rock store. Times change, so innovation is the key to long term success.

The problem with this is that the torrent file still needs the voracity.net tracker that the Author decided to use. If that fails, it won't matter if you have the torrent file or not. But your just being helpful, and any extra bandwidth should be gladly accepted. Ty ;)

  17. Re:How about an anti-spam bill? on House Votes to Launch Do-Not-Call List · · Score: 5, Insightful

It's one thing to block a phone number. It's another to block an email.

Email is complicated. While most telemarketers seem to call from inside the US, email comes from all over the world.

Spam is too profitable and too complex to just stop with a finger. Making a quick initiative to block spam is often fatal as seen when the first spam filters came out. All of a sudden you didn't receive that one email saying you won the lottery. =)

In Mac OS X you can set the dock to magnify the programs your mouse is over.

This is how I am guessing this new 3D navigation works, by magnifying as you move around.

I turned my dock's magnification off. :-) The fact that list view has been here for so long should say something. People like lists where everything looks the same. Having things pop up from unreadable sizes out of nowhere seems a little unnatural.

I am inclined to say that the revolutionary idea that will change how we look at our computer desktop has not yet come.

Just a thought, but I have a feeling that when bidding gets to the thousands of dollars for something worth virtually nothing, Ebay starts to get a little weary.

I know that I once had the great experience of falling for a new TiBook 1GHZ for only $1500. Bidding went well above that, and Ebay then pulled. Turned out it actually was a scam.

My guess is that Ebay would happily risk stopping a real auction for the small chance it might be a hoax(instead of vica versa). In this case on the chance the bidders won't back their wagers.
