I don't download music, movies or software illegally (or at all), as SCO, RIAA and MPAA would have you believe and I will not pay for the actions of others in a collective punishment manner such as they propose.

I have a working IBM XT with a 10meg +hardcard and an IBM CGA monitor, just begging for me to load some of the oldies up on it! Man, those were the days. I remember playing Zork and THHGTTG (text mode ONLY!) on a Columbia XT clone and an Amdek Amber display, and also on a old Compaq (8086) luggable (sewing machine style) with 2 floppys.

If they are modifying and distributing the code themselves, and over a period of several YEARS, you would think that someone there would have caught this, eh??
No, incompetence and ignorance is not an excuse. They KNEW what code was in the kernel and distributed it under the GPL. If they did *not know* then they are ignorant bastards and that's just too bad for them, they still ditributed the code under the GPL and had ample time to not only catch but to rectify any descrepancies...
In a way I think this may end up being a good thing for the OSS/GNU/Linux community.
It's rallying the troops. The OSS/GNU/Linux folks are coming together circling their wagons. It's forcing the fact to the surface that there is an alternative to M$, which MOST people were never even aware of at all before this.
And once SCO is shot down in flames and the GPL is shown to be bulletproof, people will begin to take a serious look at GNU/Linux.
This is the acid test. It's obvious from reading the FSF statement that they were very meticulous in researching all the IF's and AND's and made certain to dot those i's....
You can download the UNIX source code all over the Internet. So what's the big secret already? I bought a book on Unix a few years back that had a CD in the back with the source code. It was for educational purposes...
places like New York, Houston, Dallas, LA, etc. are running out. They've had to spilt area codes to handle the load. You have to dial all 10 digits now just to call your next door neighbor.
Some of the largest cities are proposing adding another digit right now to relieve the problem..
You can setup old PC's all over the house to listen to streamed MP3's from a central server in one room that will feed as many pc's as you want. I use recycled pc's that I rescue from trash piles and it's great!
Basicly I'm in it for the cat5 wire costs. Everything else was free from a trash pile.. No kidding..
When someone keeps breaking into your house, robbing you, breaking your things and beating you up, would you not either move to a place where that would not happen any more? You know, like a better neighborhood? The police aren't helping you so it's time to move.
