  1. Car Radar on Weather Monitoring Frequencies Subject to Pollution · · Score: 2, Informative

Car radar is used to for cruise control on Mercedes line of cars which is used to both adjust the throttle and even apply the brake when needed. They are the only ones I know that using radar based cruise control. Infiniti and Lexus both use laser based cruise control. If you have a radar detector you can actually detect people driving with their cruise control on.

Mozilla extensions have full access to your system constrained by the users security of course. Therefore if someone wanted to write a malicous extension that installed spyware/trojan/virus, they could. It has nothing to do with the OS. Try running IE under a non priviledge account and see if activex can install stuff.

IE high protection level disables javascripts, activex, embedded objects(flash, etc), active content. There's no way to install anything on your computer with IE at high level. Lot of pages won't even work at highlevel since they require javascript or have flash menus. Exploits usually took place with activex or some javascript exploits for drag drop or local security spoofing.

Hell there's even a free and open source web server written by microsoft if you don't want to run IIS. And in 3 years, there's only been 3 security advisories. Can you say the same about php? I see over 1000 security advisories listed on secunia.org security list. Thats some high quality stuff.

Company's have won against overture including geico. Overture settled with Geico. And your auto insurance example isn't accurate, it would be more like advertising in the white pages under the geico listing. Anyway, I think its going to get appealed. I don't really think it makes a big difference though, someone who is searching for geico website is obviously looking for geico and not likely to click on advertisements. Otherwise they'd be searching for "insurace" if they wanted insurance.
