Fox News and Congress actually getting a clue about consumer rights and technology is like a politician vowing vote in the interest of thir constituents. It just doesn't happen in the long run.
Make lots of speeches crying that they are for the average person, but when the campaign donations start rolling in we all know what's going to happen.
If you don't believe me, just look at the DMCA, UCITA, and COPA. Whose interest are they really concerned with, those of thier biggest donors.

I find this article to be just a bit whiny. Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw are not hijacking caselaw. Anyone that needs to access the caselaw can go into any library at a lawschool and search through the many, many, many indicies to find the cases and law reviews that they need to gain access to. I find it amazing that people expect to get access to something for free, especially when there has been a huge expense in creating the infrastructure to provide these resources. 15-20 years ago EVERY lawyer had to "look in the books" to find the caselaw that they wanted to cite. Now, it is easier, because of computerized search engines.
Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw are not like google, where google just creates a large cache of webpages. Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw also provide analyses of the various cases in their databases, as well as a list of every case that has ever cited the case that you are currently read and whether those cases agreed or disagreed with the outcome. The citatations can be extremely important to have because a lawyer does not want to cite a case that has been overruled by a higher court. To provide this service takes money, alot of money. It takes alot of employees to manually check everything is typed in perfectly and it takes alot of computer equipment to run the who database.
I'm not sure about this model, but this design by Sony has been out, for (at least) nearly a year! I would not say that this design is anything revolutionary.
It looks very similar to the various flat lcd setups that you can by other vendors, except that the keyboard is physically attached to th monitor.
1000 monkeys with 1000 typewriters could have written a better script in 1000 years than that piece of crap! I am indifferent about Farscape, but that commercial was just awful!!!!

The only question is whether the underlying code used for XBOX Live is the same that is used by SystemLink. The difference is basically XBOX Live is designed to be used over the internet and SystemLink is designed to connect Xboxes together (LAN party).
If you can afford it, find a competent attorney and sign a retainer aggreement. They come in several types. The most probable type you would want is one where you could pay for a specified amount of legal services up front, for those "Is this something that I should be worried about?" calls. You pay the lawyer up front and they answer the phone whenever you call, they don't need to be worried about getting paid because they already have been. Sometimes you can have as part of this aggreement that you will be refunded a portion of the unused ratainer.
Another type of retainer is the type where you pay a fee for the attorney to always be available for you, then you pay a reduced hourly fee for their services on top of the retainer.
I am sure there are other types of retainer and/or prepaid arrangements out there that could add piece of mind. Call your local bar association to find out, the larger bar associations usually pretty good educational and referral services.
True, but anything that you disclose to a lawyer is usually covered by attorney-client priviledge. Which means that the lawyer cannot disclose confidential information. The priviledge is created the very second that you start talking to them even if it is only to discuss the idea of becoming a client.
The people that you really have to watch out for are the VCs, they will almost never sign a NDA, so you need to very careful when deciding which VC you want to go to. In the case of VCs you really need to take into account their professionalism. If you have a patent, it is much easier to talk to them because you already have legal rights to your idea.
After getting the patent your legal rights relate back to the date of the filing, not when it is granted. So it would be advisable to get your filing in as soon as possible. Just because noone has been granted a patent similar to yours doesn't mean that someone hasn't filed a similar patent. If they filed their patent before you, they will win a court battle, even if they are granted a patent after you.
I would definitely recommend getting yourself a lawyer because if the patent is written too broadly then it can easily get overturned and if it is written too narrowly then you can lose out on future profits that should have been covered by your patent. Only an experienced lawyer is capable of staying within those grey areas.
Also, if you don't make not of prior art in your application your patent can get overturned just on that fact. This is an area that a layer can help a great deal by making sure that all of the proper disclosures are made.
Make sure you find a lawyer experienced in the particular type of technology that you want patented. Expect to pay more for a lawyer that has a masters or phd in the area of your product (i.e. chemistry, engineering, biotech, etc.), but these people will be able to better understand your idea/product and will also be able to tailor your patent so that it does not overlap prior art.
There are also many small boutiques that specialize in patent law. Depending on where you are, especially on the west coast, there should be quite a few firms that could help you out on this. The smaller boutiques should be cheaper as well.
Check out http://www.lawyers.com to find a list of firms in your area. Try to find a firm that specializes in intellectual property or patent law and has lawyers with degrees in the area that would cover your idea.
But, doesn't the government have to disclose the paths of military and spy satellites to whomever tracks those things to insure that (current and future) commercial and military satellites don't go bump in the night? My understanding was that they did not have to disclose its purpose, just its flight path.
Then again, if my premise is true, we could always put up a new sattelite in place of an existing one and not tell anybody because that flight path is already known.
I just googled and translated the site and this is waht I got. Those damn Romans, whenever anything good happens they always step in and F*CK it up for the rest of us!
I wonder if the "Financial Police" are anything like the IRS here. If they are, then we REALLY have something to worry about!
