Back in my days workinig IT at a power company, the systems that controlled the grid WERE seperate from the internet.
The operators had a 2nd PC for all "normal" usage, and could only use the control systems for that purpose.
Either someone thought combining the systems would be a great way to save some cash, or this report isnt 100% accurate?
Because IBM would lose control of the product, and it would be difficult to support multiple different versions, or "flavors" as they might become known as.
Oh wait, they'd probably lose some money somewhere along the way too.
Linux is not the underlying OS of VMware ESX. ESX uses VMware's own proprietary OS, as opposed to the GSX/VMware Server product, that runs on Windows or Linux. ESX just happens to look a lot like linux. And actually, I think that they just re-compiled some of the stuff; since its easier to do that than to re-invent the wheel. To learn more about the VMware product that has got Uncle Bill @ MS worried, you can check out VMware's website for ESX server

You'd better cache this thread so you can claim "Prior Art" when his lawyers come knocking!

Well, let's see...who patented it first? ;)
So Skynet will know when the laundry is done of course!
Still would have worked better referencing Jupiter in place of Zeus. That whole multi-level thing you know?

I dont know what your problem is; CUIL returns 78,662,145 results for "beef". They don't seem to have trouble finding it. :)
It comes down to this: When SkyNet attacks, do you want the Terminators to speak with a Chinese accent?
I think "Im in ur base, killin ur d00ds" is more appropos.

Can IBM declare war on Utah?
I beleive that the breakthrough will come when NASA gets a budget through Congress WITHOUT it being cut.
