    Do the US banks only use username/password pair?


    Worse... some (like one of my local credit unions) require that your username is your account number, and your password *has* to be a 4 digit number.

    Before you drop you cash. Remember the HCL from hte early days of WinNT?

    Just spend the $40 on an external serial modem and you'll be good no matter what OS you use (just about... do Macs have serial ports?)

    A regular wireless keyboard, and one of the wireless Gyroscopic mice. With a little practice, you can operate the mouse mid-air well enough for desktop work/demos. I wouldn't want to use it that way for FPS gaming, but they typically have a ball or optical unit as well. We've got a setup like that at work (Logitech on both), and it is fantastic... as long as you remember to drop the mouse in the charger at the end of the night.

    So make it a "feature" by somehow providing much more localized GPS like information...

    Hrm. Would a ping time over a 802.11 type connection be "accurate" enough to get an accuate distance measurement? Perhaps via triangulation from multiple APs?

    Yeah, not like they did it before. Remember how the Quake3 test release was Linux first, then Mac, and finally Windows? Or perhaps the native Linux Quake2 binaries? Or even the native Linux Quake/QuakeWorld stuff?

    Sarcasim aside, I too am glad that id continues to support us Linux gamers, and I plan on paying my $$ as soon as it is available.

    I used CUSeeMe (not even maintained since '97) quite a long time ago to connect to a netmeeting reflector server and to Win95 netmeeting clients. Worked by selecting a chunk-o-desktop as the "camera" area, and it broadcasts whatever is in that area as the video signal.

    A few of my former coworkers and fellow students now work for this little company called Medical Manager. Last I spoke with one of the people doing programming, they do like to use various OSS tools and languages, like Python.

    As far as F/OSS software itself, dunno. Like others have posted, there is TONS of testing to do when someones life or lab results are on the line.

    Nope, '65 Porsche. VWs are the same too. Ignition isn't fused, it just goes thru the ignition switch to the starter/etc. All lights, horns, etc. are fused though...

    Ok, so what is the state of LCD monitors for gaming? Having dropped my CRT at a LAN party last weekend, I went shopping at best buy. Most of the displays on display would show trails/fade/video lag with fast moving anything on the screen... Not what I'd like to be looking at while fragging away.

    One of the exceptions is the "public place" law. Take & post all the pics you want at a parade, the mall, etc.
