You would cry too if it happened to you!! *dah dah dah dah*
Seems like everyone's got something copyrighted, it's their "right", as the article so eloquently points out. It's almost as if you don't have something copyrighted you aren't in. I wonder if that's copyrighted... hmmm....
Something you may think is crap may not be crap to someone else... I'm sure someone out there is interested in the millions of Britney Spears or *NStank picture galleries.
He hopes his patent will help him launch his company and make it a key player in this field.... and take over the world!
Sounds pretty interesting, I just hope there isn't something deeper seeded in this guy, like wanting to take over the world... *plays pinky and the brain music*
It will be interesting to see what sort of things religious enthusiasts will say about this. I mean, this would go against the idea of life created by "god", "allah", "buddah", etc., wouldn't it?! It may even disprove... well, I'll stop there.
I work with a guy that has satellite 'net access and the only issue he's had with it is the upstream latency, which is why they do not suggest it for real-time gaming. Other than that he's pleased with it, but I've never actually sat in front of his machine.
As for my own personal satellite experience, I worked with a business that used satellite internet access and it was horribly slow. The only thing I could figure out was that the provider sucked and it's not a usual satellite internet issue seeing as how my friend and others are happy with it.
Look at what has happened to SGI since it began selling machines branded with Linux. Can you say "I want my stock to be worth $1?" SGI's current stock price
I hope Sun doesn't treat Linux as a buzzword; if they do they very well may end up like SGI.
If you're going to sync with Linux I'd suggest doing it via wireless. I've used every possible USB kernel setup suggested and my Z still won't sync via USB. I can ping, ftp to transfer files, etc. via USB but the syncing software makes my Z hang. I'd go wireless if USB gives your Z issues.
Does this mean I'll be able to d/l hi-res pr0n onto my cellphone-pda-in-one device? Mmm, I can almost see it now. What about live sex-streams? That'd make cellphone companies big $$!
... may be powerful enough to blind people on the ground, even if they are relatively far from the target.
I can see the late night infomercials now: Don't get blinded by those laser weapons! For only five easy payments of a low $19.95 you too can watch these laser weapons without going blind!
Sony doesn't like the idea of people not paying for the stuff they actually make money off of: the games. Everyone knows that's where the money is in console gaming systems.
What if someone installed the mod-chip so that they can play games released in other countries? Is bypassing regional encoding illegal? That's basically what everyone *snicker* uses their mod-chip for.
It's obvious that they should, but the question is now 'How?' I wonder how they can do this while, at the same time, keep load down at the school. Just imagine the number of people that apply to Yale. You'd have to hire someone full-time just to give out PIN numbers to people (considering you wanted to give out PINs at someone's request.) However, Yale could mail the applicant a PIN when their application is received. Maybe Yale could add another small fee to the cost of applying to outweigh such cost?
Has anyone done calculations to see wether or not NT7 will be gone before 2019, e.g. it hits another planet? It comes very close to Venus sometime next year (or so shows the Java applet). Just a thought. It is possible it could hit another planet before 2019.
Armageddon. The U.S. govt will hire a bunch of hicks to drill a hole into the asteroid, place a nuclear bomb, and leave one guy behind to detonate it! The rock will barely miss the Earth and we will all continue living our lives. I wish they'd come up with something new already.
Will only a 'portion' of this compiler be free? Some of you may or may not know that their Linux modules require a proprietary 'binary stub'. Thus the difficulty in porting any of their stuff to other UNIXs such as FreeBSD.
What we really need is a how-to instructing geek nation how to get their iPod back after some scumbag stole it!
Microsoft, again, crushes anything it wants.
You would cry too if it happened to you!! *dah dah dah dah*

Well, can they?
Now I can get my SGI, Sun, and other UNIX boxes in my house to do top secret nuclear computations!!
...
Seriously though, alone those machines can only do so much
Really, creating life can't be *that* simple.
... well, I'll stop there.

I hope they have taken into account the fact that the speed of light is slowing down. Maybe if you fly through space you can't be identified anymore!!
I don't have a TiVo but how would Nielson know that my grandmother is watching versus me?
I decided that I'd rather spend my time at home watching Star Trek re-runs than spend my time in a cold lonely jail cell.
PAY HOMAGE!
Just imagine everyone having one of these bad boys at home! :-D Then they'd profit when users had to buy new swords.

Now I can decompress all of that pr0n I have. WOO, fast access to pr0n.
They are considering adding a PIN in the future.

Anyone else thought of any ideas that may work?

You must be confused. Palladium is going to fix this. They've only focused long enough to figure that out.
Will only a 'portion' of this compiler be free? Some of you may or may not know that their Linux modules require a proprietary 'binary stub'. Thus the difficulty in porting any of their stuff to other UNIXs such as FreeBSD.
Hopefully that won't be the case with this.
