Actually I think what people generally refer to when they pull the moors law card is the quantum effects you get as you make transistors smaller (e.g. 1000 electrons behaves like ten groups of 100 electrons, and 100 behaves pretty much like 5 groups of 20, but when you get down to single digits the behavior is totally different).
As transistors get smaller fewer electrons are used to trigger it, but when the number get low enough that the quantum behavior of the electron is a factor the current model can not be expanded any more..

I dont buy CD's and when they shut donw napster I stoped DLing them, guess what I dont buy any more CD's now than I did then because I am not getting anything I cant listen to on the radio. What they need to do is include things with the CD's that are not easily digitally sent (like a poster, or cupons for concert tickets, a key chain,...) just something people might actually kinda want if they are a fan. Something like that (or if any of you have better examples) might make a CD worth dropping 20 on.
three years ago geeks noticed how much we are only tolerated by the music industtry, even when they went after napster the average person who does buy alot of CD's thought it was no big deal but they were at least made aware something was going on. When the copy protection that would not work on some computers and CD players came out more people noticed and I suspect you will see more and more of this as cheap cd music mixers come out (the sony thing I think) and people want to create custom CD's but can not copy due to CD format.

Well in the US it greatly depends on what state you live in. The federal rate for me is around 30%, the state rate in NY is around 20% and in my new home Minnesota it seems to be about 10%.
Now if your in the US and youre smart you incorperate youself (its legal and, imho, ethical) to protect youself not only from taxes but from liability. There is nothing you can do about youre income under this plan (that is income from your job) but you can protect yourself from capitol gains and the death tax on your assets..
I beg to differ, states here (not the fed impose a sales tax (8% in erie county NY for example is very high). If someone here proposed a 22% VAT tax there is no way they would get elected. Look at the 1984 Election in which mondale told the people he was going to raise taxes (he lost probably the worst or second worse election in US history).
The reason Americans put their money twords making buisness happy is because at least 70% of americans work for a buisness, and pay income tax. Personally I would be for eliminating all buisness tax and impsoing tariffs on forign goods (but thats just me)..
