    with other DB can just add cpu and memory in either virtualization environment or server with hardware logical partitioning, not seeing the compelling case for RAC and its administrative burden for most cases. Yes I've built RAC clusters that use being used in very large city governments but nothing that couldn't also be done by "big iron" or good virtualization solution

    still wondering about the over 70+ coal plants they're building in foreign countries, as part of infrastructure for their outsourcing of manufacturing. if they're cancelling plants at home to outsource pollution that would be funny

    False, a bullet will not act properly and predictably if its density is far too low. A bullet of glass or wood would not even group on a standard target. Those of us who handload ammo know why.

    no, none of those are suitable for firearm projectile. Concrete only is 2.4 compared to lead's 11.3 density.

    I don't know of any material with a density suitable for behaving properly as a projectile that doesn't contain toxic metals. The high-gravity-compound plastics have metal filler.

    indeed, I"m amazed people think "servers" == x86-64 boxes. Had a hard time recently explaining to an exec why certain AIX wares we use won't run on a machine in vmware.

    IBM got itself out of the commodity crap space including Wintel PC's and intel based servers. No profit margin there.

    You're backing down, you now realize NO INDUSTRY WAS EVER CREATED WITH SUBSIDIES.

    solar panel INDUSTRY existed for decades with no subsidies.

    Farming, thousands of years and not created with subsidies.

    Coal industry, existed centuries with no subsidies.

    Subsidies only prop up bad business models. Home solar power is not cost effective without subsidies which just makes every solar home owner a parasite on the rest of us.

    Nope, you're the one that isn't reasonable. The function does exactly what the doc says, and those of us who code in C have the correct docs for our libraries.

    gotchas in the compiler? Nah, they're well documented too. ANSI standards, compiler extensions....

    erlang gives you nothing that couldn't be done in many other languages. Bad to start a project using niche language when other languages have rich set of libraries, large talent pool for hiring, and many personnel in house for maintenance. erlang has none of the above. immature to get infatuated with the "shiny", real world doesn't want it.

    what you'll get depends on which part of Italy you're in. Crust coated with olive oil, smoked tomatoes and basil leaves is one possibility. Crust with cheese and the above another. Weird things like potatoes and hot dog on a crust also possible in Italy.

    eh, strncpy() doesn't do what the strncpy(3) man page says it does?

    I usually don't need a search engine since I have man pages for common C functions

    only if it has iridium connectors and silver braiding to transport the ones and zeros in rigidly faithful and optically crisp manner from source to destination without distorting the subtle hueing of fundamental colors and the finer nuances of unsaturated pastels.
