Well, what if someone runs a BIOS that doesn't have USB support to change its settings. Or some BIOS support USB keyboard, but for some keyboards you have to change a setting "use legacy USB support" before it will see certain keyboards, and to do that you need a PS/2 keyboard. Kind of funny, no?
addition can represent an OR (sum nonzero = true, sum zero = false), and multiplication an AND (all factors must be nonzero for product to be nonzero)......now what happens if I consider 0 on output of these operations to be true and nonzero false? bang, NOR and NAND.
I was just reading about that - channels are kept separate to minimize interference problems (probably older transmitters & receivers had *really* bad issues with this, though now it should be able to be done).......so mod my original post down -3 grumpy. I still hate the FCC forcing something most people don't seem to need or want in the broadcast realm.
You ignore a couple of facts:
for broadcast television, even the largest cities don't have enough stations to need VHF channels. In Chicago, for instance, you could take all the UHF channels and stick them in unused VHF channels.
Now, with the advent of cable and sattelite TV sure you could use some extra channels - but already there's many cable channels that have frequencies that are not UHF nor VHF.
Conclusion: the goverment, ever stupid when dealing with matters technical or scientific, made people & manufacturors WASTE MONEY to have UHF capability. IT IS, and WAS, STUPID!
infecting? I have to laugh. The environicks (man-haters) think man is evil, but nature is pure. hahaha. The environment only has meaning & purpose insofar as man gives it one. Ditto for the other nonliving rocks in the universe besides the one we live on. If we colonize, utilize or monetize a heavenly body, we give it meaning.
there's plenty of medical procedures that fall into that category alreaady. Come to think of it, do half the people on the planet now get any medical care?
no, we can convert plants to fuel much more efficiently than this ridiculous number (which has nothing at all to do with the efficiency of an automobile, it just says, if true, a very tiny fraction of ancient plant matter becomes useful fuel) It takes 26 lbs. of corn to make a gallon of ethanol, with the benefit that we're only using solar energy that would have hit the earth in the same year, and not adding net carbon dioxide to the earth, as burning stuff out of the ground does.
heh, it takes about 26 pounds of corn to produce 1 gallon of ethanol, but with only the energy of 0.66 gallon of gasoline. I wonder why you thought tons - think about using a still to produce whiskey at about 110 proof or just over half alchohol.
By the way, I call baloney-sausage on the idea of tons of plant matter to make 1 gallon of gas - the mechanisms & means for the production of "fossil fuel" is still the subject of many competing theories.
it wouldn't run at all - that's really slow 8D. Cyclone is really a different language; the Linux kernel has gcc specific parts in the C code, plus assembler. I've found 2.6 kernel to even be very sensitive to the particular version of gcc as to whether it can compile at all or not.
yes, I just read the RH ES 3 license agreement to see if anything's changed from RH ES 2.1. I'm NOT A LAWYER, but it still seems that only "commercial" duplication of the CD, with ReHat's trademark, can only be done via deal with RedHat. Distributing the update binaries obtained via RedHat network still NOT ALLOWED.
So, for clarification, I'm going to email RedHat and see if I understand correctly that it's ok to:
1. copy the CD's for non-commercial distribution, i.e., for people to install on home systems to develop/test
2. Use & share *source* RPMS to update kernel & OS, etc.
high end HP/Compaq systems do have hot swap & heavy duty diagnostic/monitoring, and I've worked with ones that are 5-8 years old and still going strong.
oh yeah, think some more - your provider's insurance claims are processed by some TPO (buncha people who sit & do data entry all day, and who cut checks for the bulk of "normal" care).......who is working on or writing software or supporting those systems? All of them are your fellow citizens? I can tell you from relevant work experience that that is NOT the case every time.....
at least for 2.1, was able to get the source RPM's for *necessary* updates at home (especially to get kernel & libraries to level I needed), but yeah, wouldn't even try to do *ALL* the updates this way. Hope that in 3 the source rpms will be available. My style of administration is to never blindly load all the updates anyway, even when I was a subscriber at home. Interesting that for certain certified configurations on the job, couldn't just blindly update either.
GATORWARE - any privacy invasive software, especially SPYWARE, e.g. "her PC was so bogged down with various GATORWARE, we had to run ad-ware", "the virus installed malicious GATORWARE to hijack credit card numbers from web forms"
SEAGLETON - any pompous corporate prick who tries to justify the use of spyware or invasion of privacy via computers, e.g. "that seagleton in Marketing would sell his own mother's address to gang rapers, if the price was ok"
so you LEGALLY & with GPL's blessing rip the CD's from work or your friends or someone uploads them to alt.binaries.whatever.....I have RedHat AS 2.1 that way; want a copy?
the real mystery is why The Learning Channel and Discovery channel are considered an authoritative and serious source of information by so many half-braindead couch potatoes.
Not only does the area get alot of traffic, but it's been a haven of pirates for at least the last four centuries. yeesh.
heh it's by revenue; you're going to claim the same level of revenue as the world's top 1,000 corporations? That's quite impossible. Also, you can't count their wages from their employers as revenue of the corporation.
get one of those 480V three-phase motor/generator rigs that data centers use to keep the power even. The ones at my former job required hearing protection to enter the room, about 140db. Don't use that panty-wasted 120V single phase girlie crap on your masheen.
I really doubt we would have the means or ability to "shoot down left & right" a star-faring race. That's more absurd than saying a WW I Sopwith Camels could take down a F-18; the poor Camels could be vaporized from a distance of many times its machine gun range.

what enterprise is going to be runninng RH 9 for its Oracle, CRM, ERP, etc????? That's hardly a priority for a proprietary software corp.
when the code
WHAT code???????? SCO has not identified any such code.

don't have to go that far - just don't buy or watch any HDTV until the stupid parts of the standard are removed.
