I'm a very long time Linux(19 years) BSD (17) and Unix (37 years) user, I know what exists for each platform. There are plenty of things that only exist on Windows and MacOS for business and for home finances/taxes for which there is NOT a suitable substitute available on Linux.
So I run both Windows and Linux on my home PC and laptop.
At work it's a Mac.
I don't foresee a free version of Linux ever having those apps in the next 10+ years. A locked down proprietary system by google or similar, maybe, but then what's the point?
uh huh, less than half the per capita income of the USA in England but at least australia has 79%. but go ahead and make jokes about the USA you inbred limey, we're laughing all the way to the bank.
elephants(common ancestor with manatees), rhinos(common ancestor with horses and tapirs) and hippo(common ancestor with whales) are all completely unrelated species with different bone and muscle structures. none of them would be relevant to modeling something that is in the common ancestry with birds.
if you lived in Arizona, that would be great. Where I am, you'd get maybe a quarter to third of the power you'd normally want to use, and that might not be a bad thing at the lower prices that are coming. But what you're proposing is a more a backup or emergency strategy for over half the county.
What nonsense, a sustainable human colony elsewhere is more than a century or more away if it is even possible. "getting off this rock" is not relevant to space exploration today, the tech dosen't exist and is not used for what we do today
you're the ignorant one who didn't understand when there was a joke, Squidward
I did read the article; guess again, Squidward
but that very issue is one part of the magic of overdriving vacuum tube amps for rock-n-roll, baby!
my non-analog phone did that; damn digital crap...
pure analong systems have been doing this for decades, let's bring back the vacuum tube
yes, I've lived in the better places of worse countries than my present one.
I've plenty of relatives that voted with their feet to come to the USA from various places that were inferior
things that roll hit bumps; rolling releases always break a given configuration and need fixing

missing the point.
I run Linux too. but I also have to run windows for certain necessary software for employment and for home taxes.
I do not value the opinion nor existence of the UN
doesn't run needed apps

I'm an engineer, I will not stop with decrying the exaggerated reality a marketer has fed you.
no, wrong.

the unused slots for certain blades and hyperconverged hosts are perfect for stacking beer cans or bottles. what could go wrong?
you don't have to put all one square mile of storage in one place, for example have 9 places a third of a mile on each side.....there is no problem
losses? it's a perfect application for the latest ultra high voltage D.C. line tech.
the collectors and storage don't have to be in one spot either, plenty of very sunny places in this USA

wrong, the UI GETS IN THE WAY for too many basic tasks. Maybe you don't do much?
a gay steelworker could beat the crap out of 999/1000 slashdotters. the only difference from a straight steelworker might be how much they enjoy it.
if she truly cared about you she'd nag you sometimes, because you have shortcomings that need external pushing

false, we can and have identified the minerals on Mars just fine with Rovers.
the impulse engines were fusion, NASA won't develop fusion reactors. That's tech that might even be impossible to develop
