On another note, CFLs annoy me to no end - we replaced one light with a CFL bulb, and when we turn it on, it actually takes time to "warm up". After 5 minutes, it's nice and bright, but when we first turn it on, it's dim... like a streetlight that's just turning on. Annoying as hell.
That's a feature, not a bug... for when you get up to pee in the middle of the night, so you don't get your retinas burnt out by a sudden blast of bright light.
Especially since piracy was the reason 4 americans (who could easily have been australians) were recently gunned down on their yacht.
This was modded offtopic but I think it highlights once again the misuse of the word 'piracy' and 'pirate' to relate to people who merely duplicate sequences of data.
I want someone to come along and kill the bandwidth caps in this country... The 'unlimited' we have now is pure B.S. marketing that ends up getting shaped like a 300 baud modem. I just came back from a 2-week trip to Korea where I downloaded 850 gigs in that short time.
I often surprise people by being able to remember new phone numbers in a matter of seconds.
I do it by multiplexing video and audio:)
So to remember 38991237 for example, I would create in my head an image of '3899' and while focusing on what those 4 digits look like, I'd recite '1, 2, 3, 7' a few times in my head.
I completely agree with keeping all photos, but how do you organise them?
Is there any kind of software that can classify an image as just a variation of a primary image? And manage them as a group?
eg. You want to keep all your blurry/imperfect ones, but don't want to have to trawl through all those to see the main pics... Something so you can easily browse only the 'primary' pics but then if you want to, view all the secondary variations of that shot without having all photos mixed together.
I used to name one of my partitions "Apps". Mainly because "Applications" didn't fit.
Thanks for helping make my point. Anyone that has partitioning, and knows how to rename one, isn't 'commonfolk'. You know who I mean, I'm talking about the sheep.
Before iPhone, the term 'app' was not really known or used by commonfolk. Now that it is a widely known term, I'd be willing to bet that a large portion of the population thinks it stands for 'Apple'.
"Homer! I you've got it set on 'whore'..."
I you missed something from that quote.
How do people this stupid have $200,000 to begin with?
I've worked hard for many years...
People this stupid get money by working smart, not hard.

It could have been far worse.

I remember my card PINs through their differences between successive digits (up 2, down 1, up 6, etc.).
I remember my PIN because it's the price of a cheese pizza and a large soda back where I used to work, Panucci's Pizza.
If the site is about getting money to Wikileaks, then I think they should sell plain white (no logo or text whatsoever) shirts for $100.
Hint: It started with hunter2
Well great, now everyone knows it.

This really impressed me!
Warning! Mute speakers first... Then it's impressive.
I completely agree with you and GP; both the 'clippy' remark and the 'regex' remark are spot on.
It would take way too much time, so no one really does that. We keep way too much crap.
No, 'we' just don't organise it well enough.

You can get several older issues for free on playboyarchive.com, if you install Microsoft Silverlight.
Sounds like too high a price.
When I turn my head sideways it looks just like 2 billion rows
Where can I buy a monitor like yours?

Some higher species might be doing the same thing with us humans.

The folk I associate with commonly use "app" to mean "application".
Exactly. A small subset of the population that associates with a slashdotter.
I used to name one of my partitions "Apps". Mainly because "Applications" didn't fit.
Thanks for helping make my point. Anyone that has partitioning, and knows how to rename one, isn't 'commonfolk'. You know who I mean, I'm talking about the sheep.
Many posts are virtually or totally unaltered versions of existing comments.
I agree. In fact, many posts are virtually or totally unaltered versions of existing comments.
left v right is a false dichotomy. as is black and white.
As is morally right vs morally wrong.
[The US are] on the morally right end of things

Well, according to my computer aging program, she should look about... 42 years older.
Photoshop -> Image Size -> 5%
And voila! No more pixelation!
