I think what he's saying is that it isn't base 2, but rather the base is all the states it could possibly have. Like is a bit was red, blue, and green instead of 0 and 1. As far as all I've read there are more than an "on" and "off" state.
Did you not read his post?? Try visiting someone who is poor and destitute, working two jobs to support their families. Try that, and then you can call them lazy and stupid. Then I can call you ignorant and callous.
Ok fine. The average person that has email recieves 32 a day. But if you didn't have email, how would you recieve any. It's stupid to argue that people without email should be included in an average that has an obvious prerequisite. This is pedantry at the basest level.
I'm inclined to agree with Nutria...the present may now only include a mp3 here and a video there, but in the very near future what is keeping you from streaming a video to your television, podcasting, playing a music file locally, distributing data P2P, etc... all off the same machine. Trends indicate massive increases in multi-tasking technology, with the all the dual-core and multi-processor hoo-hah going on, even on desktop, one-user machines.
Seriously. Why don't developers go out and ask regular people what they want, and just give it to them? I see more useless pedantic features everyday when we should just be concentrating on the things most people want.
I was talking with a friend after recently watching a documentary on the exploitative practices of Wal-Mart Corporation. After discussing several different eminent billionaires' philanthropic habits, we eventually came upon Warren Buffet. I had read about his views on inheritance, but I've never really heard of him giving away much money to charities. That he can willfully and cheerfully do this is a hugh testament to the human spirit. In corporate America, we see backstabbing and deceit as the rules of the game...
It's just really nice to see something good happen for a change.
If anyone has ever played the game Deus Ex, the main villain's name is "Bob Page". Also one of the endings in the game (and honestly the only thoughtful ending) is that an AI gains power over the Earth. Will Google and it's massive database of information become an entity too powerful for men to control?
You'd be astonished at how good homebuilt equipment can sound. For a few hundred dollars you can build a pair of speakers that will rival a store-bought set costing hundreds of dollars more. You don't have to be an expert, plenty of plans and designs exist.
Remember that home theatre is one of those shady zones where quality isn't always objective and everyone is out to charge you the most for it.

And ironically yours is higher than his.
Mod parent up...where is the compassion in this world anymore??
Read the last line.

If that was truly the case, then your sister would be the stupid one.

I'm interested to know if this would really work.
In fact, they did: http://www.improveverywhere.com/mission_view.php?m ission_id=57
Granted, they aren't trying to buy anything... but it's still humourous nonetheless to see management flipping out.

Unfortunately, the answer is resoundingly...yes.
