Regardless, you're still going to have another daemon/service running to wait for the call to start the program (in this case, Aero,) up again. At least with XP, it's just sitting there. But then again, the most serious gamers wouldn't have Aero running, much like how they disable the themeui, or whatever the service is.
Might I ask how "A website and laboratory for the Gulf of Maine Aquarium" has anything to do with NASA's mission? It's like the congressional hearings for steroids in baseball: a complete mis-management of resources.
I'm predicting with all the sports games they're promoting (Tennis, baseball, etc) that there are going to be many drunken brawls caused by somebody conking another person in the head while playing Mario Tennis
... between Windows and the other OS's is that generally, the average user for Windows has full admin privs. while the average user for Linux and OSX browse the internet with significantly less privs.
I don't know about you guys, but I can't seem to play any videos on there using Firefox on Linux. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we only have Version 7,0,63,0?
I guess there's no chance of me to prevent things like MSN Messager from being installed and adding garbage to the registry. Instead, I'd have to find the cryptic run command to uninstall it, which still leaves the problem of extra crap in the registry.
Double-or-nothing that it's after all TV broadcasters drop the present "Standard Definition." 4:1 that it's when Duke Nukem Forever comes out (they will be bundled - I don't know how, but they will be)
At least we don't have to worry about our TV power consumptions, let alone our receiver/speakers/subwoofer power consumptions.
Fortunately, I live in the dorms, where I don't have to worry about the electricity bill.
Unfortunately, however, I am one of the *few* people here that can see that with n million of these consoles being sold and plugged in, along with all of the other equipment used to compliment them, that the environmental costs are much higher than what the article shows.
The PS2 did a fair job for emulating PS1 games, but it still failed overall.
Example:
When playing The X-Files on PS1, the game runs as it should. On PS2, the PS2 fucks up the interface so you can't move the cursor or anything.
How do you value currency, though? Look at the history of gold. The the number of dollars that it cost for gold in 1980 was more than it is today, and that's not taking into effect the time value of money. On Tuesday, September 23, 1980, gold's value was $711.00, valued at Sept 23, 1980 USD. On Thursday, June 01, 2006, gold's value was $625.00 , valued at June 01, 2006 USD. So if I had only gold, and milk cost the same in USD then as it does now, it only costs me 87.9% of what it used to. Factoring in the time value of money, it costs me an insignificant fraction of the original value.
Most importantly: More sound codecs supported.
Blueray will allow multiple interface layers to operate at the same time, which means that when flipping through the chapter menus, we won't hear the same music starting over every time we hit "Next"
You can use the internet for "additional features"

Unless they're talking about preteens buying phones, I can hardly see how we're a "new generation" when most cellphone users were established consumers before cellphones were: A) Invented B) Known by the general public C) Popular
... they make a video card that can run with my 350w PSU that only has one PCIe x16 port. Also, I'd prefer if it doesn't sound like a 747 or DC-10 starting up.
The major drivers that most users have issues with are with the proprietary video drivers, though. We can only hope that this will help us get driver updates as fast as Windows users, but we have no idea if ATI and nVidia are actually going to help the end-users any more than they currently do.
I think the main thing that this will allow us to do is have more features added/modified, rather than more/newer drivers.
Most people can't afford a $40,000 car, let alone something that's 2.5x as much. Plus, people feel that their car is less powerful if it's completely silent. Just look back to electic motorcycles, they had to add artificial noise-makers so people would accept them.
With as many deaths from accidents/errors/mishaps/fuckups on both sides (US and USSR,) I thought that the original Apollo missions *were* on steroids
My bad, I guess they were on speed.
If they can't bring their purses, then they won't board the planes! If they won't board the planes, then their annoying-assed kids won't be there!
I'd be happy as a clam if either of them stopped flying. Both? By golly, I'm extatic!

But when you play Ghost Recon, you get to kill Dirty Arabs. Those sick bastards....

Moral of the story: statistics are fun!

Fuck that, I'll just join the brotherhood.
The power lies with the proles.

Dell, HP, Lenovo, et Co. won't do anything other than tell ATI and nVidia "Hey, do this, or else we'll switch to integrated Intel graphics."
