When you have a tablet, you can do things like punch in what defense the other team just used to provide statistical analysis of what the next best play is, or what kind of defense to run if your opponent is doing X often. These are things a coach can know, or have on paper, but the ability to quickly look things up for an effective response or plan is probably very beneficial.
What I don't know, however, is why they would need "connectivity." Why do you need wi-fi operating your iPad or Surface if you have all of the relevant info on the device? If they don't have all the relevant info on the device, what do they need it for?
Sadly, I agree. I will not upgrade to an iPhone 7 if they do this. The amount of times I use my headphone jack is insane; it's a core feature of the product for me.
There's a lot of cases where you end up doing something that is considered not "best practice" and is frowned upon, but it gets the job done, is not likely to cause headaches for future developers, and is the most efficient way to solve a problem. It's not programming, but using !important to force a style when you absolutely have to or to override a bad implementation of bootstrap is a surefire way to solve an issue.
...Shortly after Clinton gets elected, where she will basically throw up her hands and say,
"You know what? I am sick and tired of Republicans coming after me all these years. I'm sick of it. Time for a taste of your own medicine. Turnabout is fair play."
And I hope she encourages the DOJ, the FBI and others to go HARD after Republicans, Fox News, and other groups that have been going after her all these years. I really hope she does. Take em to court. Sue em. Open useless investigations that wastes taxpayer's money.
Did the interviewers know the interviewee was a woman, just that she had a deep sounding voice? That may not be discrimination against women in general, but rather a discrimination against women with deep-sounding voiced, which is something else altogether.
"Interviewee technical score wasn't faring that well either -- men on the platform had an average technical score of 3 out of 4, as compared to a 2.5 out of 4 for women."
So is the implication here just that it's harder to find highly competent women in technical fields rather than men?
I need my iPhone to have a headphone jack. I love making DJ mixes on my phone. I use an app called dJay, which allows me to mix using my itunes library. I've gotten quite good, to the point where I will occasionally sit on the bus or at a bar making a mix, and I don't need a monitor, as I can tell where to start the mix using the waveforms of the song.
Anyway, this only works if the sound and screen animation of the song beats are perfectly in sync; if theres ANY delay, I can't mix. I have tried doing this by using a bluetooth speaker instead of headphones, and it never works. It's always off by some delayed amount.
If Apple actually does this, this is the one thing that will make me never want to upgrade. I know they would make dongles, but that adds other issues, such as what if I need to mix while having the phone plugged in because I'm running out of battery power? Anyway, don't do it, apple.
And if anyone wants to hear my mixes made on an iPhone with no monitor and just a pair of headphones, here ya go: https://www.mixcloud.com/xevio...
But you might care about the excellent sub-sires operated by Gawker, including Kotaku.com, io9.com, gizmodo.com, and others. These sites are actually high quality, but their existence is predicated on the fact that Gawker.com itself gets many more views. So it would truly be a shame if these other sites disappeared. Although I suspect many of the commentariat here would shed no tears if Jezebel.com went out of business.
I've never heard much about the opinions of elderly Japanese on the necessity of the Americans dropping the bombs. Any sources for this? I'm genuinely curious. It wouldn't surprise me, but it would strike me as odd to hear an elderly Japanese say the equivalent of "well, I *guess* they had to do it, but still..."
If by fixed race you mean more people voting for the other person, then...well, who gives a fuck what he thinks after this is over.
This. It's a big ol nothingburger. It will be seized on by Trump, of course, but I don't think it will affect much at all.
Fuck Stein. A vote for Stein is a vote for Trump.

I thought there was a joke here, but I read to the end and was disappointed.
At least we aren't upside down, our toilet water circulates in the correct fashion when flushed, and we drive on the correct side of the road...

Applications? HTML was never meant for "applications". It was meant for web *pages*. Websites.

It's still pretty fucking hot though.
"...these sorts of stupid mistakes.." rather than "this sort of stupid mistakes". This and sort refer to the singular, while mistakes is plural.
Go back to 1939 Germany, Fascist.
Can you please show how Obama went after Republicans with investigations at the same level Republicans have gone after Hillary?

You go Hillary. Take it to em HARD.

I am confused. I thought that, to be pardoned, you have to have been found guilty of, or pleaded guilty to, something in a court of law.
He has been charged, but there has been no trial, in absentia or otherwise. So how can he even legally be pardoned?
And you must be an idiot who lives with his mother. See how that works?

So you don't like video games? They report on video games. What's not to like?

I have always wondered why the most insightful comments in a thread here on Slashdot are usually at the very bottom of the thread. :-(
Not when it is supplied to a third party, in this case Sprint.
Sprint was fully within their rights to provide the data they owned to the cops.
Your location, supplied to Sprint via your phone, became Sprint's "effects" and not yours.

Where does it say he was apologizing? God, you conservatives can be so dumb sometimes.
Except Obama is actually a pretty good president.
Exhibit A: Visiting a nation to reflect on the deaths of the 150,000 people we killed there.
And Bush was a pretty fucking horrible one.
Exhibit A: Invading Iraq under false pretenses.
