Air is only free until some assholes find a way to restrict peoples' access to it. It's a finite resource, and while it wouldn't make sense today, people will definately pay to breathe in the future.
He may have invaded two countries, but only one of them really had anything to do with terrorism. Regardless of your opinion on the Iraq war, I think we can all agree that it diverted mindshare and resources away from fighting Al Qaeda.
I know why people think it is superior. It puts the menu for the current application in a predicable location which is quickly accessible. If you are working extensively with a single application, this is great. My point is that with a number of small applications open, accessing the menu of an application which is not in focus is tedious. It's a good tradeoff for most work patterns, but it is not designed for multitasking.
The Mac interface is clumsy for multitasking because you can only access the menu of a single application at a time. If the user has to learn all the hotkeys for their applications just to switch apps and pick a menu item efficiently, well that makes FVWM good for multitasking too!
To what extent would public universities be willing to foot the bill? After all if the drugs go into the public domain and people get cheap treatments, that is a direct benefit to society. It would seem to be in line with universities' mission. Whether funding boards, etc, etc, can be convinced to spend the money is of course another question entirely, but a few high-profile successes would probably bring them around.
Dear DeadBugs,
We regret to inform you that we can not send you the scanned images after all, due to malfunctions in our scanning equipment and imaging software. Please accept our apologies.
I still recall the horror of my first Quake deathmatch. People wielding rocket launchers and all manner of guns, blowing each other to bits. I *tried* to reason with them. I explained that people needn't die, that we could resolve our differences in a non-violent manner. I was laughed at, fragged, and laughed at some more. It was then that I stopped looking for alternate solutions, and started looking for the Quad damage!
I've always been more of a 16-bit fan myself - the graphics just seemed more polished. I did get a playstation however, here's my list of favorites from the 32-bit era:
Castlevania SOTN (best graphics & sound ever?)
Suikoden II (rare gem that few people played)
Breath of Fire IV (ditto)
Strider 2 (still fun to play)
Grandia (great for an earlier game)
As well, there was a huge collection of remakes:
Lunar 1 & 2 (these were awesome!)
Final Fantasy 1-2, 4-6 (pretty good)
Chrono Trigger (so-so, but still a great game)
Thank you for my new tagline.
And all of your paintings will automatically increase in value!

Those stupid rules apply everywhere.
Reunite Church and State?
Maybe the government should give funding to churches. Do you think they also fund mosques ?
Hold citizens with[out] trial or bail?
Hmm, even the CATO Institute seems to think this is a bad idea.
Nation building without proper cause?
Well, the US gives lots of money to Israel. As for Iraq and Afghanistan: you call that building?!?!
Tax breaks that only benefit the rich?
Here's what Paul Krugman had to say on the subject.
Dismantle the EPA and let Corporations write Enviro Laws?
It's called the "Clear Skies Initiative", probably because it clearly pollutes the sky. There's also Cheney's Energy Task force, but I can't give you supporting evidence because it is being withheld, even from the Government Accounting Office.
Create a Police State where you can spy on cizitens with impunity?
We're reading about this right now.

Here's a slashdot suggestion. Broadcast porn on a competing channel. Nobody will ever see your real broadcasts.
Lunar 2 is awesome. If you really can't get a replacement, mod your playstation and I'll make you an iso. Oh, and I think you'll like my sig :)
Still can't get it out of the computer ?
Wow. What an original idea. Sounds a lot like this documentary, which was reviewed in the mainstream media, which is pretty much dominated by... you guessed it. :)
... like Linux on the desktop ?
How many people are now waiting for the "Illegal Narcotics Elimination Act of 20xx" ?

But not one instant earlier?
Which, as in the case of Fermat's last theorem, is a colossal waste of time for everyone involved.
There are no practical applications of knowing that the Riemann hypothesis is true.
I stopped reading here, because you are an idiot.
That's strange. I use their online banking in Konqueror all the time. What functionality was broken ?

Not in Nevada.

Doesn't it look like one locked down device has usurped another ?
