    Hmm. I think by this time your security is already out the window and a borked lock program is the least of your worries.

    Even at a glance I can see the movsx instructrion which won't be supported by the Z80. I'm sure there are others.

    Why can't people like you just appreciate the technical accomplishment instead of nit picking.

    Tell you what - why not go away and try and write any type of chess program then get back to us?

    As someone who has written a chess program which even after some code optimisation still came out at ~3000 lines of C, I can tell you this is damn impressive.

    ... when you consider the ZX81 chess was written in Z80 assembler whereas this is in x86 asm and although both have variable sized instructions the x86 will on average be larger.

    Thats why I said "persistent". And water vapour sinply acts in a feedback loop for CO2. Its positive and negative effects - cloud reflectivity vs IR absorbtion - tend to cancel out.

    Just what exactly do you expect will happen if you almost double the amount of the atmospheres main persistent infra red absorber? And if you think it will have no effect can you please explain why you think this.

    I'm just curious because I'm sure your stand is based on sound scientific reasoning rather than a rather pathetic attempt at self justification for a "lets carry on business as usual I don't care" approach to the issue which unfortunately is a standard human response to a lot of big problems.

    As fas as we can tell beig the important clause there. Besides which - the energy causing the expansion could be coming from outside our universe if one adhers to the multiverse theory , in which case all bets are off.

    Or maybe they thought your comment on superfluous was ignorant rubbish. C++ is badly implemented design wise but most of whats there is there for a damn good reason and if you don't understand why then you'd better stick to languages like Python etc.

    Teams are great for doing parallel repetetive tasks such as testing thousands of compounds to pharmacological activity or building a bridge or whacking out 10K lines of boiler plate code. But if you want inspiration or genius or a completely take on a problem then you're looking at individuals (even if they've stood on shoulders of giants). Einstein didn't think up Relativity in a scrum with powerpoint presentations (ok they weren't around then but you get the point), nor did Turing come up his theories on conference calls.

    This will sound arrogant but I don't care - teams are great for the slightly dim and/or lazy people in the world because it means they don't have to put so much effort in or think too much. Hence why management tend to be so fond of them.
