    Hmm , lets see. Just off the top of my head - not tightly integrating the HTML engine with the core OS, not having all system daemons running with administrator privs, having a proper setuid system, not being able to send abitrary messages to the windows of other apps. I'm sure google can provide you with a load more.

    Just a wild stab in dark but perhaps they wouldn't have ended up with a trojan on all their systems because OS/X and Linux have better security.

    Tell me , if all this is so obvious, how come you didn't design it?

    Besides which , when https was designed it was a pretty hefty burden on the server CPUs of the day so it was logical that only the parts that needed security would actually use https. Unfortunately hindsight always does have 20/20 vision and people who pretend its their own insight are usually full of it.

    And everything still looks like an assortment of blobs surrounded by splotches and patches. An imaging system that requires training to be able to understand what you're seeing really isn't a very good one. Though I suppose its the best we have at the moment for the price.

    Given the number of server side linux installs on x86 machines the PC manufacturers are not going to shoot themselves in the foot and not supply machines that linux can be (pre)installed on. They'll probably have a Windows compatable line and a Linux compatible line. At least for servers. For desktops and laptops things could get a bit tricky I suppose, but then I was under the impression all this secure boot crap could be switched off in the BIOS anyway?

    They're not something you can guess. Someone with access to those systems either was careless with them, let someone else use their account and they were stolen or its an inside job and they're simply trying to make it look like it was external hackers.

    Does your comment have a worthwhile purpose? As for why not - this project makes the calculator less useful since it'll be crap as a general purpose computer and now it'll be crap as a calculator too. Which rather defeats the point of most "nerd" projects which is generally to improve things.

    As something with a worthwhile purpose? Umm , not sure about that one. Slow CPU, bugger all memory or storage , tiny screen and a lousy keyboard. Not really my idea of useful general purpose computer. And do you really want to risk screwing up a rather (for a calculator) expensive bit of kit?

    Use an ethernet cable if you're at home. Faster AND more secure. Ok , you can't if its a smartphone or an ipad but I'm talking about when using proper computers, not toys.

    Liquids and gases are both fluids. If the weight of the molecules in a mixed gas made any different then earths and every other planets atmosphere would have seperated out into layers billions of years ago.

    They have a global warming potential thousands of times higher than CO2 and are being released into the atmosphere in large quantities. HCFCs replaced CFCs because they don't react with ozone so don't destroy the ozone layer. The downside of that is they don't react with ANYTHING in the atmosphere so no one has an idea how they will ever be removed. This is a potentially major issue which isn't being taken seriously enough.

    When 2 liquids can dissolve with each other the weight of the molecules is pretty irrelevant. How do you think alcohol and water mix when water is so much denser? You don't see the alcohol sink to the bottom in a wine bottle left for decades for example.
