Yeah, you can see the money flying away. But with "privacy concerned" banks (like in Caiman Island), you won't have a log of your money moving to another bank, then to another bank ... until everyone would lose its track.
BTW, I work in financial banking :)

You don't get life for stealing money ... more something like 10 years in jail.
So, if spending 10 years in jail does not scare you (showers ...), moving the money to a safe place (Caiman island) before getting caught is a pretty good deal. With SWIFT, you can move the money accross 10 banks in less than 1 minute. They'll never see the money back (with carefully chosen banks).
How much money do you need to spend the rest of your life in confort ??

    OK, I forgot about that.
What I meant was that sooner or later, you'll have to connect to the internet and someone will have to provide you the connection. And to get this connection, you'll have to be physically somewhere and might need to show some ID or leave a print (like paying with a credit card).

When subscribing, I got rid of almost all the ads and got a account with 5 archived articles a month (older than 1 month, which you normally have to pay to access), with a upper limit of 25 articles.

I am very happy with this.

My point (and Jean-Noel Jeanneney's) was not to prevent any initiative but to encourage other concurrent initiatives.
If you read Jean-Noel Jeanneney's article, he says that Google digitalization is a wonderfull work. But he says that it should not be the only one. He never said that it should not happend : he said other people/organization/company should do the same.
When I said that one browser or one OS is evil, I did wanted to say that being the one is evil, not being an OS or a browser. So, to prevent it to be the one, others should exist.
