Good Lord! This tax is rediculous. I mean really... if I just got done paying "x" amount of dollars towards the possibility that I might use my legal device in an illegal manner, then you can bet your ass that I'm going to get my money's worth. It eliminates all of the guilt associated with these "infractions."
This will most likely be some watered down base-user app that creates animations via wizards and robots. Yippee, Gramma will finally be able to create her very own annoying Flash intro page. I doubt this is anything that a professional would use.
And here lies the danger of P2P to record companies. They are the middle-men. They are the ones who control *who* is the next big-hit, who gets airtime, who goes on display. If people stop needing them to filter good bands out of all the garage teens playing today, their business will be no more (since artists won't see a benefit in signing for a label).
I agree with this, but there is something important that needs to be said about this. As you stated, in a world where power is shifted away from Record Lables, P-2-P can affect who is the next big hit, airtime, displays, etc. The beauty of this is that the popularity of the songs and artists discovered is based on the quality of their music. NOT who gets on MTV the most or placed in commercials or pays ClearChannel or Infinity to put them in rotation. This would be fantastic!
I think that most of us can agree that this is a good thing. However, it is January. She can still do a lot of damage in a year. AND, I would hate to see what she did as a last minute effort to leave her mark on the industry.

I hate web pages that don't let you increase the font size. I think CSS is to blame for this, but I'm not sure.
Actually, CSS relative font sizing is the SOLUTION. An web-designer's maniacal lust for control over his/her layout is to blame for this problem.
