    but litigation proof, should the FUD of SCO prevail

    if I buy the system with a linux cd in the box and wind up owing licensing fees to SCO, I can complain to dell..

    if I buy the box with freedos, and load linux, then dell has 'clean hands'

    most US companies PRAY they'll get away with producing something that'll get snapped up by the GP due to a flaw or workaround that makes the item valuable.

    The constitition says in part "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State. "

    does this mean congress has to vote on it? or already has?
    for me to succeed, it doesn't matter if MY point of view is right or wrong, there must just be reasoned replies.

    now the only d/l available will be screenED..
    I often wonder, the commodization of computers made the pricepoint go down.. who pays 3k for a computer any more? no one..
    ever watch the original 'blob'? one great scene, where the kids are pulled out of the movie house by the local law enforcement.. they complain "ok sherrif, you've got out eighty cents"-- movies were a dime.. and until my adulthood, so were phone calls.. think about it.. movies and payphone calls were the same price at one point in time. and payphones held level for DECADES

    could not the widespread of free movies have forced the studios to re-normalize (read, de-gouge) to a point where the value was obvious?
    instead of selling popcorn/candy/soda/food at a huge markup, and forbidding bringing it in from outside.. charge enough of a price that precludes anyone from wanting to bring it in from outside.
    instead of selling 10-20 bags at 1$ profit, sell 100-200 bags at 20 cents profit

    and I can put down another 1million valid email addresses on my cd (and they are all at davidcole.net)

    right, but if it came up as say, a legal matter as to what I digitally signed, the raw data will show what version I signed.. and that would be defense enough..

    scenario- someone creates such a document in my or another company, I read it, approve it, digitally sign it..
    two weeks later it displays that I did something VERY STUPID to appearances sake.. I look, I say, that's not what it said when I signed it, lets' check the raw data.. the op I responded to said that a person would have to be ignorant of 3 things for it to slide, I point out, even if you were deliberately ignorant of the three things- in order for my 'digital signature' to match,it would have to still have the same raw data, and I could check after the misleading problem arose.

    -and must not check after the fact
    if I'm told i 'signed off on it' and it turns out to be inverted as to meaning, I can then check the raw file, evidence of what was displayed when I signed would be there, or again-- the hash fails the check.

    I can't agree with this.. durable goods, sure, handmade things.. sure
    Price of leather shoes (no name) in USA? 40-100$ in Slovakia? 10-50..

    yes, the price structure is comprable with income levels.
    Food, not namebrand clothes, personal services, resturants, cigarettes..
    However, price of sony electronics?- damn near the same.
    CD's- within a dollar of prices at home- film? kodak was the same price..

    I believe that ... a wage that will never allow them to buy all these products your company is selling. truly does exist in places.. read about some of the labor conditions in china vs. the wage..

    I think the guvmint gave verisgn domain registration, and a consortium named epcglobal gave them everything else..
