The thing is, Mozilla may be bug, but compare it with the IE6 installer and you must have included the Kitchen, House, Garage, Housing estate, town, and everything else.
This is great, if i get some money then I will create a team to secure a slackware based system, make a distribution of it and get it to pass this test. Im sure its possible.
No offence to apple people, but your systems usually come with OS-X so why just not worry. Of cource you may have an Old G3 you want to try Darwin on. Well there is one soulution to it... Make your own soulution, make your own GNU/Darwin project.
Im a Linux geek so this does not concern me, but I want to try GNU/Darwin but i dont have a PPC, the only Mac i own is a Macintosh Classic which still more reliable then a PC, actually its what I do my homework on and stuff (Macwrite) then i put em on disk, mount the disk in Linux and im away. Then i print it after converting or I just give the disk to a teacher. But now im heading to another subject, and yes basicly I want to try GNU/Darwin but i dont have a Mac. There is a PC version i hear but i dont bother with it yet.
But the bottom line to me is, if its not there make it. I come up with many ideas and check if there is already somthing on the net, usually there is so i dont bother. If there is not i make one. So basicly DIY!
Its good to see everybody switching to Linux, but its even better to see it in Austrlaia, but lots of schools down under use Linux as well. But they tend to use it for Terminal Servers and the like, with tarantella.
They can try and get there statistics thru my Security.
Its like PC vendors...

PC vendors are afraid to stock alternative operating systems because Microsoft will cut them off. And they will go into chapter 11. Its the same with the damn fuel companys, they will just cut the gas stations off! And they wont sell normal fuel anymore.
I must try solaris one day, sounds good. But I still would prefer Linux over any Unix, I am about the only person I know who would willingly say "Its better then the BSD's". Many others think not, but Linux Really has everything you need.
It does need better UFS support. But uou can live without that. Anyway Linux is the Only os that I have that supports hfs.
Even if more company's inside the US are switching to Microsoft.
Which still is only a small number, many overseas company's seem
to be using alternatives. This is most likely because of the fact that
Microsoft are a very large company inside the US and supporting it
is just giving the US more.
Linux is perfect in this case because its free, or cheap and there is
"Turbo Linux" in japan which keeps there economy quite well.
Other country's people, youth mainly are into Linux because of Moral
and political reasons. And more are willing to switch. On top of this
is the fact that Linux/Unix now going seriously into the Workstation
Market, and perhaps will have it quite well in a few years, just like
it has a fair grip on the server market now.
Only good things
will happen for Linux, and there all good!
When I think about it, with the scale of the internet and stuff, what can they do about it. And Freedom of speech is a major thing. If AOL dont want to get bashed, they should make a decent service. Every day the internet seems to have more and more facist rules. Or attempts at them.
When you think about it, this technology could be "hacked" because if you think about it... All you have to do is put some software on your Gateway (for example) that doesnt let the fritz chip send anything to Microsoft.
But you could make it send fake auth keys to the TCPA servers and all that stuff.
I also ditched XP because i am furious with Microsoft for this. And even if i like games that are not availible on Linux i decided to make a stand. People who can not make sacrifices are a bit selfish. And i will also switch from PC to Compaq Alphas, or Sparcs or somthing. Even if the PC was a cheap nasty peice of hardware. Actually, id probably go with a 2nd hand G4 for now, and upgrade it.
But heck; We all need to either protest or just make sacrafices to avoid this crap.
I was talking to a dude on irc last night about avoiding TCPA. And keeping my freedom, and stuff. We ended up talking about making a network of retro equipment. You know, PDP-11's PDP-7's Core Memory, all that stuff;-)
Im thinking of starting a simllar thing in the West suburbs of Melbourne, Austrlaia. Well, im in Narre Warren. But its a cool idea nontheless.
So if you live in my area contact me, its a sweet idea, i will bring it up in an upcoming LUG meeting.
You could fight fire with fire, not a long term or ethical soulution. But lots of script kiddys are only running Win9x on dialup and stuff like that with no firewall. You could just send them large ping packets from all the relays. Vallah... They cant do anything...
Of cource it is unethical, not nice to ISP's and so on. So i dont suggest doing it. But it could be done. I was DDossed the other day so i would not do this because i know how tough life is on dialup:D
But banning is a good soulution. But a problem being skript kiddys using proxys, I know because of being in highschool there are scriptkiddys here who just spam irc channels and stuff. That if i wanted to chat the hosts would be banned which is annoying. Also the proxy server at my school was badly configured and allows external hosts to use it. Script Kiddys use these most of the time to get in as you all probably know. So the soulution for "Trustworthy Computing" (LOL) is smarter admins in the long run.
Is it starting to look like we are becomeing like the zerg is starcraft. Or have I played to many computer games.

From the perspective of a person who only owns a Macintosh Classic with 4mb of ram, "RELEASE THE SOURCE FOR OS 7!!!"

LINUX IS BETTER

I hope my new iBook never gets infested (when i get it).

The Mozilla Prefrences toolbar (which you can set your user agent in and stuff) is availible at www.xulplantet.org its cool!
What a coincidence, I used that term today and I turned 15 not long ago ;-)
