Isn't it funny how the media and the politicians go after games like Doom after a teenage shooting yet there are many websites like this that teach you had to build a nailgun.

That being said, here's my disclaimer. I don't believe in censoring websites and nailguns don't kill people, people kill people, yadda yadda yadda...

This is because the 4.7GB DVD-RW drives out there use one layer on one side. Some DVD movies use 2 layers on 2 sides, making the 4.7GB = 4.7 * 4 = 18.8GB which is around what was originally predicted from what I remember.

But in '92 when we purchased a 486DX/33 it had a 120MB hard drive that was big for its time. Still, 7 years ago we had 1.6GB hard drives. Do you think 1.5TB will be such a big deal in 7 years? I don't think so. We'll have 1TB hard drives in 4-5 years from now.

Mod this parent up! You are exactly correct!

I have to admit that I liked Doom when it came out because it was new technology and it was different. Now that I've upgraded my PC with a fast 3D card and a blazing new CPU, I've found that there *aren't* a lot of good games to choose from anymore.

Whatever happened to games like Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, the Space and King's Quests, even Legend of Kyrandia. Something about those adventure games were compelling.

And *no*, 9 times out of 10, (3D != fun) That's my honest opinion. Now I feel like a dummy for purchasing my GeForce 4TI with 128DDR RAM :-(

You just reminded me. I used to have a popular domain name here in BC, Canada and the huge phone company in western Canada sued my company for having a .ca version of their popular .com website. They could not take my domain name because my business model wasn't stated in their trademarks "wares". Every trademark (in Canada anyways) has to say what product it's selling. Therefore, McDonald's shoe company can have a McDonald's trademark if its wares are shoes because the huge McDonald's food chain's wares are most likely food, fast-food etc.

Just yesterday I received a supposed email from my girlfriend with a greeting card link. So I clicked the link because once in a while it's nice getting a funny online greeting.

First it asked me to put in 10 email addresses before I could view the damn thing, so I entered bob@bob.net, joe@joe.com etc... Then the damn site gave me a one-line joke (which sucked by the way) about the queen. My girlfriend is Chinese--- she would NOT send me a joke about the queen.

So at home I asked her about the greeting and she said she didn't send me a the link. She, of course, received this "greeting card" link from a friend of hers, and when asked for 10 email addresses, my girlfriend, of course, used my *real* personal email for one of them (innocent little thing).

So now I must prepare for *more* spam. Argh. :-(
