    Write your comments first, then code to match the comments. This way, you are forced to clearly define the input, output, variables and algorithms that will be used in the code BEFORE you start coding. When it's clear in your mind, the coding becomes easier and less confusing; and you have an outline to follow to make sure you don't forget something.


    First : Mod parent up (informative) Secound : This is called pseudocode programming. First write down what should be done, then start coding, not other way around.

    I don't see why Microsoft should have to turn over their source code without any kind of compensation. They did develop the product, and it seems to me that they should be able to profit from it. In my opinion the demands of the EU are in this case unreasonable.

    I'm confused too... why did they break AT&T in the first place, years ago ????


    Don't tell me that it has something to do with monoplistic behaviour....

    It will not work because of the fundamental flaw at the heart of the system: in order for the purchaser to view the content it has to be unlocked. Once it is unlocked then someone, somewhere, will figure out a way to make a copy of the unlocked version. And once an unlocked version leaks onto the network it will be uncontrollable.

    Then we shall watch encrypted movies like peoples in Matrix. And keep unlocked version in our mind.

    At least, until someone figure out how to DRM our thoughts.

    Linux + PPC (+ IBM) might beat BSD + PPC (+ Apple) -- espcially since IBM makes the PPC part! -- and definitely beats Windows + i86, but why the hell NOW??? What do they know that I do not?

    Gosh, I wonder, why did IBM sold their x86 factory ??? Looks like they are done with x86 products, and going to introduce alternative platform like ppc + Linux.

    well, this is just MHO.. but who knows what tomorrow brings

    wasn't it AMD's CPUs that you could literally fry an egg on? How did this come about? Sorry if it's redundant, but that was my impression for the longest time - AMD runs hotter...

    Time changes, my friend. before,Intel CPUs was faster on same clock speed than AMD, and look at situation now.

    My parents and the bulk of the people out there do not need a 64bit 5ghz monster under their desk. And honestly most of thosethat have them probably only use the power 5-10% of the time, if that.

    You know, 10 years ago I was saying the same thing about the bulk of the people not needing a 32bit 1 gHz monster under their desk. Now this is the minimum that they need.

    Don't underestimate Microsoft's ability to make software that brings yesterday's supercomputers to their knees today.

    Nah, my Win 95 realy runs FAST on my new XP2500+ :)



    anyway, there is other operating systems out there, not just M$ stuff, like LINUX

    BTW: If you have an IRC client, you can join #bt, #bt-gm and #tvtorrents on efnet. #bt and #tvtorrents serves TV show torrents and #bt-gm serves torrents for games and movies.

    I wonder, if they manage to lock down .torrent sites, what stops them not to lock down IRC sites that hosts links to same .torrent sites.

    I suggest that M$ removes all IExplorer, WMplayers, CD burning etc. software from Windows, and sell them for $10. The price is reasonable becouse you don't need to pay extra developers fot this stupid programs. Then we will have free comptetition market, and choise. Maybe then M$ Windows would be on any PC.

    MS is pulling the same bullshit. Offer the software to the schools are extremely low rates and then offer the Office/etc applications for $10 to $20.

    more cache only matters when multitasking, not when running a single process. This is why Intel has always put larger caches on their Xeon line. This is not TRUE !!! Use SETI as example. More cache is needed only when you do work on big data chunk. In SETI example 16 MB. So you need LESS requests to SLOW main memory. IT DOES NOT depend on MULTITASKING !!! Boy, 95% of posts and replays here are from ppl. who doesn't know Sh.t about computer technology and how CPU realy WORKS.
