That's also how the maintenance trucks around here are. They look like normal trucks, but modified with a thing in the middle that looks like a parking break, where you just let it down, and the wheels come down, and it is like another gear where it drives those instead of the tires. I was actually thinking of getting an old truck and doing the same thing.
I was wondering if there is third party firmware for my router (D-Link Wireless router, dunno the name, don't have access to it right now), so that I can get an airport express to act as a repeater with it? Is there 3rd party and/or linux based firmware for this that will support the standard that the airport express uses to act as a repeater?
I can't believe that the editors have stooped to this level. We have come to an age where people can share information without being harassed about their physical mishaps, however the people who deliver this very information still find a way to make fun of others disablities.
.... in this. I mean a search of "orkut site:google.com" (no quotes) on google brings up one result with a dead link. I mean, maybe it is just some employees from google who started this, and put google's name on it? I don't see google putting much into this service though, for all we know, someone could be running it secretly from their workstation, a server, etc at google. I am questioning how legitimate this place really is, and if it has much affiliation with google or not. I'd see this problem as fixed a while back if google was afiliated.
that wasn't meant to be Flaimbait, I was wanting to see his desktop in action to see how it works, and how he implemented this, I was just saying I havn't used active desktop in a while (I'm on debian now).
... using freecache, instead of using somthing for what it's not susposed to be used for, and doesn't give a very good view of the site to begin with (images, etc, even though they show up because it can still get them from the original site in this case). Why aren't we linking to freecache in our stories? Maybe slashdot could use somthing that would strip the URL in all links, and always use freecache unless a flag was set to specifically not to??
care to send a screenshot? last time I used active desktop is when I was little, and I had a thing that shows satalites going around the world, it messed up all the time, and obviously didn't do much productivly.
Even better if the computers think for themselfs and solve all our problems for us, what is so bad about that? It isn't like we are gonna do anything like SkyNet.
How he is different from your average geek-american? Edison did a lot of unique things, and this guy just did stuff that people like us do all the time and don't think anything of it. Just because he lives in a third world country, and doesn't capitalise on his stuff doesn't mean he is better than your average geek from America/UK/NZ/etc.
Feel free to mod this down, but it needs to be said...
you need a lightbar (green / clear are legal in most places, see your local jurisdiction for which ones are and aren't), and an airhorn, and a PA, then you can show him who is boss! I dunno what you do once they stop, probably get the shit beat out of you, but I am getting a lightbar just for the coolness of it.
What's sad is this actually makes sence. Maybe music needs it's own thing like the GPL to help turn things around.

Is WDS what is required to allow waps to act as repeaters? Is that what the apple one uses?

Ok, my Karma Whoring didn't work, and you guys aren't as stiff as I thought. Look at the forum on my site, and you'll see I'm not stuck up.

You mean advance notice, and 10 minutes should be plenty, just hurry up and cache a bunch of stuff before it all comes crumbling down.
I think we all want apple to build that exact same machine.
... find out what the most efficiant speed is for my vehicle? I have a 2.7 L V6, so that sucks, but DOHC helps a little bit.

until I can download a normal unix app like mysqlcc, and just do this:
./configure
make
make install
and it all just work, without fink, etc?

Debian is the true winner.
A lightbar with takedown lights, and a PA
Private Drive? Road Closed to Thru Traffic?
