    In a nutshell, no they cannot. If they do, first they are in violation of the GPL and if they continue, then they themselves are in violation of Copyright laws.

    They have been in front of a judge and lost, then they were in front of a jury and lost. At this point SCO has nothing (legal footing) of that left except to be vexatious.

    The Vatican has had centuries of practice with holding certain truths and actively deceiving people all in the name of keeping their soul pure. To bad they are filled with pedophiles. Oh wait, that's how we know there are pedophiles in their midst's from and I give them to much credit on this; transparency. No the Vatican is like any large organization.. more interested in maintaining their position than anything else. I seem to recall a certain religious icon. I don't know, the guy that got nailed to a tree for encouraging everyone to be nice to each other saying something along the lines of; in secret lies are born (or some such).

    Yes it seems the did reverse the bans. However they added to the TOS something along the lines of; "Thou shalt not speak of ad-blocking software on this site". Its a good thing the site mods got religion. Now they can start Holy Crusades for other types of banned speech. That should fit in well with their policy of; give us some money and we will reduce the number of ads you see. How nice, think I'll stick with Adblock.

    When owners of web sites accepts responsibility for the ads they show to include the possibility such ads could contain malware. I might think about turning off Adblock for their site. Until then, if a web site wants to ban me, that's fine with me because they are more interested in ads than the content of their site. First impressions of looking at The Escapist Home page, its crap and clearly they are more interested in bombarding you with what appears to be ads than content. How do I know if I click on images that it is not really giving them click-thru?

    Till now I have never heard of this site and have to thank Slashdot because I will never visit it again.

    They only need to look towards Red Hat. If Oracle cannot figure it out, then they need to close their doors. It is not the open source arenas responsibility to make Oracle profitable. Now if Oracle wants to hire me at oh, I dunno $500,000 a year plus perks, then I will teach them, till then they have done nothing but issue a threat.

    It is an ignorant statement but not for the reason you cite and the sentence should read; "Microsoft has failed to protect paying customers from some of today's...". The security industry can do little when given such a crap foundation to work from.

    The Microsoft operating system has been, always will be insecure. No amount of anti this, anti that or how update date your windows box is; it is not safe to use for any kind of sensitive data.

Just because a guy with a computer can now do the something does not in the least bit diminish the accomplishments of Beethoven and friends. It shows they did not need a stinking computer to do it; they did it in their brains. I would not attribute the same amount of brain power to Professor Cope. Anyone troubled by this has even less brain power than most.

    I don't think the lose of hardware compatibility or lose of functionality has ever stopped businesses making stupid decisions. If that were so, then Adobe would have fixed Flash a l o n g time ago from being a big resource hog.
