    The only people who could love this idea are liberal gun grabbers who are afraid somebody might get hurt with a gun.

    And we all know how utterly stupid it is to expect something like this. I mean, when was the last time in the US someone got hurt with a gun?!

    You miss the point. Not that people get hurt with guns, which is the intent, but that some people are afraid that people will use guns as they are intended.

    Frankly, I trust my neighbors with guns more than I trust the politicians trying to "regulate" them.

    There is no way in hell any law enforcement or military organization would ever go for this!

    While I can see why the gun banners want this, I can not see why anyone would want one for themselves. I get disabled and can not hand my gun to my wife to defend us? I have to sleep with my watch on, and gun within 20cm, or type in a pin in groggy half sleep? My "watch" battery goes dead?

    Seriously? This needed to be done for all countries 10 years ago.

    Assuming you trust them to stop at botnets and not include p2p, vpn, uunet, private mail servers out of the country, list servers, and other legitimate traffic.

    ...is to empty the account every day. There is no sense in keeping any amount of money within their graps as they have shown time and time again they will freeze access without real cause or warning.

    Also, clean out your bank account. They have the right to go in and take money back out of your bank account. In some cases they can even overdraft you, so make sure you do not have overdraft "protection."

    Or just don't use the cheating bastards.

    If a service only supports payments by paypal, just tell them that your sorry but you will not buy their service.

    I do that. They are usually amazingly surprised. Then they will frequently take a personal check. Funny that... :)

    Unfortunately Paypal is really the only option for a lot of smaller sites for whom a merchant account is too much hassle and expense.

    Banks can't take or freeze your money simply because they don't like what you do (which Paypal often does)

    It's actually worse than that... they can take and freeze your money because they don't like what one of your business partners does...

    In Linux, the kernel can be configured to provide functions for system debugging and crash recovery.[4] This use is known as the "Magic SysRq key".

    I guess there will be no more Raising Skinny Elephants on a Lenovo anymore. And while I have only used it a few times in the last year, I have used it.

    You say that now, but once they get a system like that that just works. It'll have a real shot as your average Joe is easily parted from their money for the sake of convenience.

    I think that is more likely than easy Linux support for this scheme.
