    If the current Windows 10 updates are this evil, imagine what they'll be like when users have no alternative.

    You mean like the growing user base of Mac, Linux and *BSD? And Android... They are going to push a lot of people away. And even if it is only 15% that will change the landscape in ways they can not imagine.

    It's very confusing how Mucrosoft says they want everyone to upgrade, but they block Vista and all Enterprise versions.

    Well, that does make Enterprise worth the money...

    Only DVI-A and DVI-I ports are compatible with VGA via an adapter. You'll never connect anything VGA to a DVI-D port.

    I have yet to see a motherboard with a DVI-D port that did not have a VGA port next to it.

    However, I don't see the need to get a laptop from an inch thick to 1/4-inch thick either. That comes from the pursuit of the new shiny toy that looks cool, not from a functional reason.

    Actually, small is good for some people. Essentially, all they need is a Windows tablet with a real keyboard, and they do not want to lug around a lot of weight.

    I believe it was mainly forced on everyone for introducing DRM crap and to sell expensive cables and VGA would do well enough. Digital is not always the best.

    No, they replaced that with Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, Thunderbolt and USB-C. All of which are very small.

    Not on anything I own... Other then the tablet which I do not plan on hooking up to a large screen any time soon. (ever)

    I want well ventilated, repairable devices. At least the VGA plug isn't as flimsy as some modern connectors.

    But soldered on memory that you can not upgrade and non-replaceable batteries are the future!

    Because I think it would be fitting if everyone were to forward him big packages containing all the unsolicited mail they've received recently. After all, that's "content" too, right, so if you don't want to receive it, you're "subverting freedom of the press" that allows anyone to send advertisements unsolicited to whoever they want and regardless of how annoyed they might get, right?

    Nah... Just wander into his house at random times and tell him how you feel directly. Make sure you stand in front of whatever he is doing while you do it. And dance. And one in a while, try to hack his computer...

    Agree... Something for a 10-15 year old. I would try an antique graphing / programmable calculator. You get math, graphs, rudimentary programming, and that antique cool factor.

    Don't build any software on top of a 3rd party library unless it's open source or you have a permanent, non revocable license. Failing that, have a contingency plan for when they shut you off. This advice goes quadruple if planning top build a business off said software

    Now this I totally agree with. When your business or project is totally dependent on the behavior of someone else, it is not "your" business or project. Not totally anyway...

    But after the attorneys take their cut, that leaves only a $50 iTunes gift card for the users...
