    I understand you logic, but a lot of us is pissed off at developers that want to turn our multi-thousand dollar dual monitor setup into a phone. Hence why you see so much buzz over a fork of the old system, like Mate. You think it was hard to get folks off XP before? Wait till this comes out!

    What is really going to help is that the judge refused to listen to any arguments before issuing a judgement. It will be struck down, but this is only the beginning.

    I agree. Even in 2001, more people die per mile in car crashes than in air related accidents (Including all those in the towers with 0 miles) but because it is so unpleasant, more people drive instead of flying. If you do the math, you see that TSA is killing people.

    It is how the law is written. If you do not have a specific sign, you can not legally bar concealed weapons from the premises.

    Profit my ass... You will be arrested, even in a justified shooting. The least it will cost is about $10,000 but it often goes to $100,000. My life is worth that much, but most of my stuff is not. And that was intentional. Taking life should never be easy...

    Good luck with that - it doesn't get deleted, it just gets "de-publicified". And if you were silly enough to share it with anyone there's no chance.

    I know it is not really gone, but would it scare FaceBook into thinking people are no longer trusting it? Or worse, trusting someone else?

    It indemnifies companies for sharing data. That is the part he supports. Indemnification so users can't sue.

    I put this link on my wall, and it is still there. http://act.demandprogress.org/sign/cispa_facebook/?source=fb And it seems to be growing. Perhaps that is why FaceBook is in GoDaddy PR mode right now. I wonder if that would change if people started removing pictures and personal information?

    They know who you are, but may have no way to tie any specific traffic to you. All they could give is a list of all customers.

    As to the article, it is insightful, and he has a good point. But a dishonest player can still give your real IP address, and that is traceable to you.

    First, always go with more security than you need, not exactly what you need. That way when you find out your estimation was off, you have some leeway.

    Next, a court order can not make logs that do not exist magically appear... They are counting on the fact that the *IAAs are notoriously slow and they order will come long after any useful information is gone.
