No longer does he have to put up with pictures of naked women whenever he tries to browse the web.
I know! I just can't *stand* those lush women on my computer screen, waving their incredible chests in my face and all. Their pouty lips and flowing curves just get me so ANGRY!
Looking at the benchmarks on the site, I was intrigued by Reiser4's performance when reading or writing more than one stream. It seems as though it performs almost the same as when you're reading or writing just one stream. Am I correcting in thinking that this would make one hell of a difference when, for example, you're running updatedb and then start Mozilla (which takes me forever with ext3)...?
I don't think your behavior is elitist as much as it is limiting. You assume the only interesting people you'll ever meet are those who are at an intellectual level comparable to yours. I think this is a mistake. In my opinion, you should pat yourself less on the back and start having more fun. But to each his own...
Of course this will never work for certain types of games. Imagine you're playing a game and find yourself in an intense gunfight. Your friend comes walking in and starts talking about how he accidentally put the curtains on fire. You put down your controls, but half a second later you receive 20 bullets in the chest-- well before the game has any reasonably chance to detect that you have become idle.
I don't see anything wrong with an easily reachable pause button that instantly pauses the game.
Great, especially since C# really doesn't seem like a bad language at all. I think I'll have lots of fun programming with it. Hard to accept something good has come from Microsoft.;)
Cool! I'm starting a job in October coding C# in an entirely Microsoft-based environment. I'm glad to see someone who uses Linux enjoy C#, because I was kind of worried that I would be wasting all my skill on a pure Windows lock-in. I really don't want to see OSS getting killed off. Your post was somewhat of a reassurance. Thanks.
Seriously, how are you gonna stop a country? They can forge the envelope and From: field, they can use proxies and open relays. You'll never be sure where the message was REALLY from.
I just have to gripe about There's website. This pisses me off greatly.
Just check it out with a non-IE browser. See how it automatically takes you to this "Unsupported browser!!" screen after a second, so that you can't rightly use the website with say, Firefox, even though the page is fine?
Yeah, that doesn't matter much, right? That's just a means to get the code in memory. But I remember it was possible to save segments of memory to disk as a problem, so that it loaded when you LOAD "program",8,1 from floppy.
Damn. I didn't know C64 graphics sucked *that* hard.:) I didn't think it looked all that bad at the time. Go figure. We've been spoiled indeed. Back then everything was new and we didn't expect much, like it said in the article.
Ah, I remember some of it now. I actually don't think this was a problem in actual hires mode-- only with multi-colored sprites. Those would only give you pairs of two adjacent pixels for the capability of having more than one color. I really don't think hires graphics suffered from this limitation, though.
They will be shortly after that, though.

This would be SO worth it.

Not a replacement for something existing, but I find RuneScape still very impressive. It's an MMORPG in Java. Great if you're bored at work.
He meant his RealDoll...
Your description of Doom 3 sounds great! I can't wait to play it!
Everyone has a different tastes.
It's funny this has never happened to me.

Actually, you can write both defence and defense. They are synonymous. So maybe you better go apologize. :)
Yeah, I know Postfix-- I'm running it at the office. Just didn't know about this option and your list. I'll check it out.
Currently I run it with MailScanner and SpamAssassin (with Beyes filtering and several RBL's). I still wasn't really able to stop all spam.
So thanks for the info...
What? Postfix doesn't seem to know about "clientreject" and it appears to be some sort of milter for sendmail that you are talking about.

Why!? Why!?
I don't know about you, but for me it's up!
They made a books out of the movies?
Who cares? I'll sue the hell out of him! If only I knew how to contact him...
I hereby patent first posts!
I don't know the numbers, but wasn't there a time when people said things like: "But who uses Mozilla, anyway?"
